We've added carronade models which can replace cannons entirely for captains who prefer to trade range for higher damage.
We'll have a proper video showing them off soon.

I wish I could be more specific, but there are so many variables that make it impossible to give an estimate. Once we "finish" the game, it could take a month or more before it passes the store submission process on each platform. We'll let you know when the game reaches that stage, so at least at that point you'll know there's not much longer to wait. ;)

We'd rather do it this way (not giving a release date early) than saying "it's coming on this date" and then delaying it if something comes up.
On the plus side, there will be a playable beta fairly soon. We'll have more details when it's ready, but it will likely start as invite-only and then open up to more people once we've gathered some initial feedback.
 
As far as I'm concerned, better you do it right than you do it fast!
If that means releasing in 2021, then better that than rushing a 2020 release. :onya

I think we can safely say it will release in 2020, given the limited scope we've set ourselves.
As much as I'd love to keep adding features and content until it rivals New Horizons, I think we would slowly go insane if we were still developing this game in two or three years' time. :shock

Makes sense, so if you are going to go crazy if you do this; is there going to be mod support?

I can't wait for the open beta, hopefully I will have the time to play but even if I don't, we will all learn more about the game. ;)
