Pirates of the Caribbean: Community Prequel Script

Oh, yes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I am just saying we need more diversity, thats all...

It would be nice, just wondering how we should go about that. I don't know about making Jack talk in a straight sort of manner for extended periods, it doesn't fit in with his character. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> And it seems like he always says something off the wall in each scene he is in. He just can't help himself, mate. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> The next few scenes will turn a bit serious so I guess we can put this <i>straight talk </i>to the test. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Interesting. Of course we can argue that Jack isn't <i>quite</i> as weird during the beginning of our film as he is in the others. That way we'd have some interesting development in his character and it could show in the way he talks. As the film progresses, he starts talking more and more Jack-speak. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Yep, thats the premise I have been going by. We just want him to appear clumsy, yet composed. Like he has just learned this little thing of his, and later it is perfected to a great detail. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

What brings about the Jack-speak though? Is it some kind of life changing event (such as being marooned by Barbossa) or is it something more subtle?

Now THERE's a hard question to answer. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

I mean, are we going to have him start out kind of straight and then slowly have his speech patterns become sprinkled with Jack-speak, or are we going to have him go through some kind of event that brings the Jack-speak on quickly?

It can go either way. I don't really have an opinion on that one at the moment. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Well, if we are happy about Jack's dialogue up to this point, we can just continue on to the next scene and see if it sorts itself out. I think we have him speaking pretty much as he always does so far in the script so that might need to be revisited if we want him to be more of a straight arrow as far as his speech goes in the early part of this film. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Or of course we could leave it like that and keep the more obvious Jack-speak toned down a bit, like we have had it up to this point.

Indeed let's keep what we have and continue on with the next scenes. We can always change stuff later.
Please don't be surprised if you'll get particularly little input from me for a while. School is become busy far beyond the point of being ludicrous. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Understandable, we all contributing when we can. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I think we should keep it a milder version of his normal speech like so, and it gets heavier and heavier and by the end of the film, he is just the same as in the first.

Sorry all, I have one hard week left and I am taking a long vacation, I will have more time to devote. Things are just busy as hell lately... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

You mean as the film progresses we just spice up his speech more and more? That sounds like a plan. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

My extra work should be winding down towards the middle of next month also and then I will be able to devote much more time as well.

Just a few more days of this heavy work, and I am home free for easy going for a long while. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> So sorry, I haven't kept things going over here. It seems we are all busy at the moment. :p

It does. My job will be winding down this month and I won't be such a zombie at night and therefore be able to post some clear thoughts about the next scene. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Things are just about to end over here for a bit, the busy season anyway. How about everyone else?

Lessons are over, still a whole bunch of assignments to finish. And I'm exhausted already... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

same here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> not like i've been adding a lot to this topic, but i still have a bunch of assignments to do. school has actually succeeded to follow me into the holidays.

I just got back from vacation, and I am anxious to resume. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> It seems we all finish something that kept us away at the same time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
