Pirates of the Caribbean: Community Prequel Script

I like it. I would have drawn simple shapes and numbered them, but you went all out and went as far as to put guns on them! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I LOVE to draw battles and such to quality is my first name. Hey i drew this amazing picture of Jones, I am amazed i did so well, i will post it on here.

Here is my Jones drawing. Eh? Eh? What do you think? Its not ALL of the way done, so dont be surprised if something doesnt look nice.

Sweet! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

I would add more, but the site where you have yours needs a subscription to post, which is kind of a rip off, so i will have to find another way.

Couldn't the Dutchman be unbeatable simply because she is of a supernatural sort? You would figure that a ship like that crewed by sea monsters could pretty much move about however it wanted without regard to wind direction. If you accept the fact that supernatural forces are at work.

I think the semi-official story is as follows:
- Jack works for the EITC and is asked by Beckett to collect a cargo
- The cargo turns out to be slaves and Jack refuses to transport these slaves
- Beckett burns and sinks the Wicked Wench and brands Jack a pirate
- Jack is devastated and swears he will get his ship back even if he has to raise her himself
- Jack almost drowns in an effort to raise the Pearl himself from the bottom of the sea and this is when he meets Davy Jones and makes the deal<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I didn't know that about Jack almost drowning himself trying to raise the Wench from the sea bottom and that's how he meets Jones. So it wasn't that he almost drowned after the Wench was sunk by Beckett.
<!--quoteo(post=214600:date=Sep 18 2007, 05:51 AM:name=Pieter Boelen)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Pieter Boelen @ Sep 18 2007, 05:51 AM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The timeline is not entirely clear. Personally I think there should be quite an amount of time between Jack refusing to transport the slaves (or setting them free) and the time the Wicked Wench is sunk. We already have plenty of Black Pearl scenes in the current films, so I would suggest to have the transformation from the Wicked Wench into the Black Pearl take place late in the film, almost at the end so that we have many scenes with the Wicked Wench in the prequel instead.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree with that.
<!--quoteo(post=214600:date=Sep 18 2007, 05:51 AM:name=Pieter Boelen)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Pieter Boelen @ Sep 18 2007, 05:51 AM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->The Kraken? Good point. Although we should probably not show too much of the Kraken at this point, because DMC should be the Kraken-film. I am also wondering if Davy Jones could somehow call up some sort of reversed whirlpool or geyser or something else to raise the Pearl. I am rather wondering how to show the whole Davy Jones/raising of the Pearl thing without making it seem TOO supernatural. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I like the reversed whirlpool idea. Jones shouldn't have a problem raising the Wench as he could pretty much bring about any supernatural event he needs to accomplish a task. I guess in a sense, Mercer, he can use the force. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Aye, 'tis. I drew it while looking off of that nobly posed picture of jones.

BTW, Mercer, to go off topic for a moment, did you still want to add animation to your signature? I told you about photobucket, you can check it out <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10930" target="_blank">here</a> and join if you want. Its free. Just scroll down to the last post and click on CSI. Click Join Now above the video and then you could just link up an image from there to run in your sig.

Okay, back to the story. We have all agreed on the beginning being set in England? Yes? And that the color of the films should include blues, greens, and golds? Yes? And that we all agree on my battle plan for this movies battle? Yes? And every other important point brought up that i have not mentioned? Well, thats for you to decide, but once more we are lagging behind. I hate to have to prod everyone into action, but we must move! Hasten my friends! I need novel form writing to convert into script form. Everyone write a draft, then we all will pick what we like from each one, then we will make a super script! K? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> Everyone will most likely get a bit of theirs in the final draft of each section of the script. Everyone here is a good writer, and i expect great things from you all.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> So are we all ready to brave all hasten to put together this script which we are undenyably, inescapably, incapacitorialy in agreement on the outline of said script? Lets make good old Jack look good...saavy? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />

AHHH, you must put it as your signature, (DUH!!) LOL! I am such an Idiot!

Damn damn damn damn damn, i cant get this image i have on my desktop into my signature SOMEBODY PLEEEEEEZE HELP!!!!!!

I'm not paying for a subscription. Its free, you just can't use <i>all</i> the features like the subscribed people can (Which isn't much more than the free acount.) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'll try to get something up soon Mercer, something good! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

Mercer, you can't put the image in from your desktop, it won't work. You need to link it from a website, but if you do that you may lose it because a lot of these websites break the connection. That's why I suggest Photobucket. You can get an account there for free, then download your image on it and then link it into your signature. I don't pay for a subscription either, its good enough with the free account.

commodore, how do you make the highlighted things, like lightning and cannon flashes? i never managed to make such things. they always end up slightly ragged (too obvious outlines, or it being too obvious that i deliberatly didn't draw anything there) or smudged. i'll put something made by myself up. it's not that good, as i'm really new at drawing people, but still.

here it is:

this pic is actually made as an illustration for a story at ellaybe island, which would explain certain oddities you might see. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

I had this idea of adding other nations' influence. With the inclusion of the sacking of Nassau, a Dutch town, and possibly a voyage to Indonesia, it would make sense to add the Dutch East and West India Trading Companies into the film: The Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) and the West-Indische Compagnie (WIC). This would allow us to use such VOC ship replicas in the film as the Amsterdam, Batavia and some others, which would add some realism, because that would mean we use real ships and don't need to generate them by computer. Also we could have Jack play Beckett's EITC and the Dutch VOC against each other, which could provide some major mayhem and might account for the mark he left on Beckett: Jack made a fool out of Beckett by playing him against the VOC. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

It would also be interesting to put the Spanish and the French in there somewhere. And I like Commodore John Paul Jones' suggestion of adding United States involvement in the sequel to AWE.

Comments appreciated. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

<i><b>Scene 1</b></i>
- Camera fades in on waving grass and pulls out to reveal a beautiful old-English countryside

<i><b>Scene 6</b></i>
- The ship sails South
- Jack befriends Thomas Norton, who seems a gentle and trustworthy lad, the complete opposite of the nasty and ever-intrusive Mercer (no offense, Mercer <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> )
- Several scenes of shipboard life under Jack Sparrow

- Tia Dalma gives Jack the compass, explaining that it will help him to always steer the right course. Jack doesn't understand

<i><b>Scene 10</b></i>

<i><b>Scene 11</b></i>
- Land is sighted. Norton goes below to warn the captain
- Upon entering the cabin, he sees Jack hiding something behind his back. It is a pirate flag
- Norton tells Jack he cannot follow where Jack is going. Jack has Norton and Mercer put in the brig
- Jack starts unloading the villagers in boats and continues his voyage towards Nassau

<i><b>Scene 12</b></i>
- Jack lets Norton and Mercer go at Nassau
- Jack goes to the tavern to drink rum
- Norton and Mercer tell the Dutch soldiers there is a pirate in the tavern
- The rumour grows, partly helped by Jack and this ends in Jack accidentally-or-not sacking the town
- Jack is now instantly a famous pirate

<i><b>Scene 13</b></i>
- Random pirating
- Jack hears about the legend of Davy Jones
- For some reason Jack decides to go the Indonesia

<i><b>Scene 14</b></i>
- Jack sailing towards Indonesia with the pirate flag at the stern of the Wicked Wench
- Shipboard life with pirate Jack as captain

<i><b>Scene 15</b></i>
- Jack arrives at Indonesia
- Jack plays Beckett's EITC against the Dutch VOC causing mayor mayhem <i>[swordfights here. Perhaps even some musket-fights in the jungle?]</i>
- Jack meets with Sao Feng, who is also in the region, and greatly insults him somehow (just a random thought)
- Jack finds out about the treasure of Isla de Muerte

- Jack manages to break through the ranks with the help of the Flying Dutchman in a battle
- During the battle, the Black Pearl goes one-on-one with Thomas Norton's ship. During the fight Norton gets killed. Jack seems sad that it had to end this way
- While Jack sails away, the Flying Dutchman stays behind and takes on all ships alone. Mercer is very impressed

<i><b>Scene 20</b></i>
- Jack makes port in Tortuga and goes to the tavern
- He asks the tavern-owner if he knows of some good guys to hire for a certain quest
- The tavern-owner points to a corner of the inn, where we can just discern a figure looking like Barbossa

AAAh! Yes! The Batavia! I spent $650 to buy the kit for that, nice ship, upward sloping stern gallery nice design. Little low on the decorations im my opinion, but the Wasa! There's a highly decorated ship!

Of course you know that i will be commenting on scene 19. Very good, i like it, we have laid all our cards an the table, now were selecting the prize. Are we going with my plan for the battle? Of course with your ship names Commodore. I like the idea of the pearl going one on one with norton, lets have him on the Amber along with Mercer in the intercepted fleet of eight ships to close the circle on the two ships. The Amber was de-masted in my draft of the battle, and Norton can be killed from a falling mast or splintering wood what ever you want.

That thing you said about the conflict between the EITC and the VOC would be nice, that would give Beckett reason to sail from England to protect his assets. He will go in style with most of his fleet at the time. After his fleet was destroyed by Jones, this does two things first it gives beckett the reason to seek Jones heart in DMC, also he will rebuild a larger fleet and sail against the VOC and other Dutch owned East India companies, thus aquiring his vast fleet of 300 ships that we will see in DMC. I like that Mercer would be given a larger role in this, i think he deserves to frighten the audience.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> Commodore have you read my plan on the Wind problem for the battle?
