Mod Release Build 14 GAMMA [Last Update: 31st December 2021]

The Centurion is called a fourth rate, while it's actually a third rate in PotBS. The Fleuron (Where did you get that name from, if I might ask?) is a third rate here, but a fourth rate in PotBS, as it's the Valiant there.
The Centurion of 1732 was a 60-gun Fourth Rate: HMS Centurion (1732) - Wikipedia

The Fleuron model is partly based on this French 64-gun ship of the same name: French Third Rate ship of the line 'Fleuron' (1730)
Model Ship Builder - Eric L'Emaillet - 64 Gun Ship Fleuron - Model Ship Builder

It counts as a Third Rate in the British rating system, and a Second Rate in the French system.

Just wondering:

Can it be that you removed the custom-music which was included before, likely for copyright-reasons? I'm having the stock-PotC-soundtrack again.
No music has been removed. Indeed, several storylines require custom music.
Also, two minor mistakes in ship-naming:
The Centurion is called a fourth rate, while it's actually a third rate in PotBS. The Fleuron (Where did you get that name from, if I might ask?) is a third rate here, but a fourth rate in PotBS, as it's the Valiant there.
According to "Ships_init.c", "HMS_Centurion" is the 1732 version, which means it's this:
HMS Centurion (1732) - Wikipedia
HMS Centurion was a 60-gun fourth rate ship of the line...
So the PoTC version is not entirely accurate as it has 68 guns, but as for third vs. fourth rate, PoTC has it right.
"FR_Fleuron" is supposed to be the 1729 version, which makes it this:
French Third Rate ship of the line 'Fleuron' (1730)
French Third Rate ship of the line 'Fleuron' (1730)
So once again, PoTC has it right.

I decided to start a new game to look into these new perks and there is something very wrong with the governor's dialog. It hangs and sticks when I try to talk to them, I can not bribe them, and one time it even crashed.
@Grey Roger, do you know what might be going on there?
He's using new perks. That means he's using @Levis' fixes. You're asking the wrong person. ;)

"error.log" contains a lot of this:
Code:
COMPILE ERROR - file: dialogs\governor.c; line: 298
Invalid Expression
And some of this:
Code:
COMPILE ERROR - file: dialogs\governor.c; line: 298
Undeclared identifier: GetNationRankQuantity
There's no mention of "GetNationRankQuantity" in any version of "governor.c" that I have, so presumably it's been changed in those fixes.

I think indeed I heard Levis say he added that function at some point.
So that explains it, I suppose...

Darn, and I thought the Centurion is just a renamed Bellona...

Alright, everything's settled now, many thanks again, you are awesome! :D

EDIT: Argh, another issue appeared. :(
After boarding a surrendered Fleuron and a 1st Rate, there's no enemy captain on deck.

There's definitely something wrong with your installation. That bug only occurred in an experimental version of the game. If you've used the 31st August install plus the 22nd December update, and no other mods, that should not happen.

The Centaure, not the Centurion, is the renamed Bellona - it's the French version. Centurion is a different, British ship.

Thanks for looking into the problems. Currently the governors can not be bribed and can not give out LoM, but do react properly to quest dialogs. For instance the Animist quest is working.

Probably the character-dependent dialogs work, but the general "goveror.c" functionality doesn't.
That's... pretty bad.

Do you happen to have the needed files to correct that error, please? :)

I definitely don't want to install a fresh PotC-copy and start a new game again after that Bridgetown-fort-incident, as it seems that I just can't get it to work properly without being completely botched sooner or later.

It is also consistent with "error.log", which reported a problem with "governor.c". There didn't seem to be any messages about any other dialog files, so the governor's own specific dialog file is unaffected.

Unfortunately, that is exactly what you will need to do. The only way I know to get the problem with the missing enemy captain is if you installed a different set of updates which is now obsolete, that bug being one of the reasons. And if you've done that, putting back one or two files from the current update won't solve your problems.

Is there really nothing I could do else?

Naaah sorry, then I think it's the best if I just quit the game altogether. Because there's no certainty that it won't just happen again. :(

Which installer did you use? Which update pack did you use? And did you install the game into "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)", or to somewhere else?

Because those problems should not be happening. In particular, the bug about enemy captains not appearing on boarded ships only showed up in a set of mods released in late 2016, which had various problems including the non-appearing enemy captains. Those mods are absent from the current installer and updates. So if you use only the files linked from post #1 of this thread, install the game into something like "C:\Games\Pirates of the Caribbean", and don't add in any other mod packs, then it should be very reliable.

I was using everything from the first post and installed it on a different hard-drive in an own folder.

That's a stupid question now, but how exactly do I uninstall the whole thing, just to make sure that no files from previous mods are left over?
I have the "PCUninstall"-folder in there, but it's just a standard setup to install the game. :/

Just delete the entire game folder.

I'm just about ready to upload another update collection. If anyone has anything that is ready to go in, please upload it. If anyone has anything almost ready to go in, let me know and I can delay it a little longer.
