The one I linked to last week...?What trick exactly?
The Centurion of 1732 was a 60-gun Fourth Rate: HMS Centurion (1732) - WikipediaThe Centurion is called a fourth rate, while it's actually a third rate in PotBS. The Fleuron (Where did you get that name from, if I might ask?) is a third rate here, but a fourth rate in PotBS, as it's the Valiant there.
See here point #4:Alrighty then, many thanks!
EDIT: Um, how do I execute the console?
No music has been removed. Indeed, several storylines require custom music.Just wondering:
Can it be that you removed the custom-music which was included before, likely for copyright-reasons? I'm having the stock-PotC-soundtrack again.
According to "Ships_init.c", "HMS_Centurion" is the 1732 version, which means it's this:Also, two minor mistakes in ship-naming:
The Centurion is called a fourth rate, while it's actually a third rate in PotBS. The Fleuron (Where did you get that name from, if I might ask?) is a third rate here, but a fourth rate in PotBS, as it's the Valiant there.
So the PoTC version is not entirely accurate as it has 68 guns, but as for third vs. fourth rate, PoTC has it right.HMS Centurion was a 60-gun fourth rate ship of the line...
So once again, PoTC has it right.French Third Rate ship of the line 'Fleuron' (1730)
I decided to start a new game to look into these new perks and there is something very wrong with the governor's dialog. It hangs and sticks when I try to talk to them, I can not bribe them, and one time it even crashed.
He's using new perks. That means he's using @Levis' fixes. You're asking the wrong person.@Grey Roger, do you know what might be going on there?
COMPILE ERROR - file: dialogs\governor.c; line: 298
Invalid Expression
COMPILE ERROR - file: dialogs\governor.c; line: 298
Undeclared identifier: GetNationRankQuantity
I think indeed I heard Levis say he added that function at some point. There's no mention of "GetNationRankQuantity" in any version of "governor.c" that I have, so presumably it's been changed in those fixes.
Probably the character-dependent dialogs work, but the general "goveror.c" functionality doesn't.Thanks for looking into the problems. Currently the governors can not be bribed and can not give out LoM, but do react properly to quest dialogs. For instance the Animist quest is working.
There's definitely something wrong with your installation. That bug only occurred in an experimental version of the game. If you've used the 31st August install plus the 22nd December update, and no other mods, that should not happen.
The Centaure, not the Centurion, is the renamed Bellona - it's the French version. Centurion is a different, British ship.
It is also consistent with "error.log", which reported a problem with "governor.c". There didn't seem to be any messages about any other dialog files, so the governor's own specific dialog file is unaffected.Probably the character-dependent dialogs work, but the general "goveror.c" functionality doesn't.
That's... pretty bad.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what you will need to do. The only way I know to get the problem with the missing enemy captain is if you installed a different set of updates which is now obsolete, that bug being one of the reasons. And if you've done that, putting back one or two files from the current update won't solve your problems.Do you happen to have the needed files to correct that error, please?
I definitely don't want to install a fresh PotC-copy and start a new game again after that Bridgetown-fort-incident, as it seems that I just can't get it to work properly without being completely botched sooner or later.
There's never any true certainty of anything in life anyway.Because there's no certainty that it won't just happen again.
Which installer did you use? Which update pack did you use? And did you install the game into "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)", or to somewhere else?Do you happen to have the needed files to correct that error, please?

Just delete the entire game folder. That's a stupid question now, but how exactly do I uninstall the whole thing, just to make sure that no files from previous mods are left over?
I have the "PCUninstall"-folder in there, but it's just a standard setup to install the game. :/
