What Other PC Games Does Everyone Play?

Yeah I agree that those dieing sounds in the original game are too ridiculous to be real.. come on who says "Aiiii" while dieing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

WTF? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> I downladed it and extracted it and me winrar mentioned that a texture file is corrupt.. You might have to wait until tomorrow - the Repository apparently likes to mess with downloads. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I've had that happen piles of times. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

not as bad as tortuga bay. there the spaniards would go 'gaaaaargle' when you killed them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Ok, got the file but the mod seems to have some bugs.. one is that I can't quick-save other is that it just gets stuck in the inventory screen and I can't do nothing but end task the game.. third one is that some armors after a battle are just plain black. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Sounds like the mod's got more problems than I thought. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> So long as the enemy soldiers don't start gaaargling. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I don't remember that mod (Armored Rebalance) having those bugs the last time I had the game in me rig. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> Sad that those bugs exist now.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I hope somebody will fix it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Btw, last time I had M&B in the computer it didn't load dialog (with people) screen, buy/sell screen and battles about 5/10 seconds. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> What's up with this? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
And starting up the autorun thing and then start the game and later quiting the game is also a bitch, I don't remember my rig stuttering for 10/20 seconds just to start up the autorun thingy and when after quiting the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Apart from that annoyance, I find the game itself somewhat better than the last time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Well.. that Armored Rebalance is messed up a bit so I think I'm gonna try one of those mods that give you old greece and spartan stuff. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That slowdown you're running into has been a "feature" since at least 1.000. As far as I could find out when I looked into it, nobody knows how to fix it. You can reduce it by turning all the graphics settings to minimum, like turning off dynamic lighting and a bunch of other stuff, but then the game looks like Morrowind. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

My computer stutters for up to an hour after exiting the game now. Yet another "feature", I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Never much ran into that before 1.000, unless I was using the "Toggle TrueSight" cheat, letting me see all the parties on the map and their movements, which has always brought the computer to its knees. Using that cheat in the Calradia Rising mod is a definite no-no - only thing you'll see is a BSOD. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

If you ever give the stock game a run through, you'll find lots more things that'll irritate you, like there only being one death animation, or the fact that there is only one animation for the horses - it just speeds up or slows down, instead of showing the different gaits like in previous versions. Even worse, horses don't jump over objects - they levitate over 'em, then plop back down on the other side, half the time killing themselves. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> If I didn't know better, I'd say Paradox ordered it be dumbed down so as not to offend EA.

The Greek and Spartan mods look interesting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I used to have one for .903 whose map was 4 times the size of the standard one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

i'm back to playing The Return of the King. kicking orc ass with Gimli at level 10 never gets old for some reason. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> do a 'fierce attack' and you'll kill three orcs in one swipe. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> there are also two arena-type bonus levels which make this even more fun, since you don't actually see Gimli in the middle of all those easterlings flying around. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> he mows straight through them.

Anyways.. I tried one mod about ancient greece but that one has downright butt ugly armors in it
so I removed the mod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sick.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eww" border="0" alt="sick.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" />

Im gonna try <a href="http://forums.taleworlds.net/index.php/topic,51187.0.html" target="_blank">this one</a> because it seems to have fantastic looking armors in it plus sparta stuff. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Morgan.. what game are ye talking about? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

i SAID what game i was playing, ye goofball. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> I mean what is that game exactly? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Must be something old that yer wreck can run, mister Magnificent Bastard. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

actually, it's not that bad. the return of the king has graphics that still keep up fairly well today.

here's a screenie:

<a href="http://static.gameparty.net/pictures/10/10160.jpg" target="_blank">http://static.gameparty.net/pictures/10/10160.jpg</a>

Should I try it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

maybe. it's as linear as it gets, but it has actual scenes from the movie and it uses the original movie cast for the voice-overs. also includes unlockable interviews with the actors and developement sketches. the combo system is tricky though. unlike pressing a series of buttons and then watching ownage commence like in most games, you actually have to link the moves in the combo by carrying out the actual attacks at the right time. extremely difficult, but you don't really need the combos. they're mainly for that little extra awesome. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That one looks like it could be good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Indeed.. but that mod is still currently under developement and that means it needs a new map/land, buildings and castles to be changed and it also could have a story and Spartan shields to be buyable (I'm still having hard time getting one for me character <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I hate it when that happens. You never find the equipment you want until after you buy it, then it usually makes up half your loot for the rest of the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
