What Other PC Games Does Everyone Play?

Never heard of it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Ah THAT Medieval 2.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I was wonder what frikkin' Medieval 2? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Is it a new game or what? Old Game? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Oh no not at all, it is this:

<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e5/Medieval_II_Total_War_pc.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Of course I've heard of it! Never tried it though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

You'll have to wait until you get your new rig before you do try it. Requirements for it are goofy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I'd say to try the first one before MTW2, though - if you ask me, the original is better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Ok gonna check the old one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Almost forgot - if you ever consider trying M&B again, I'd suggest the "Calradia Rising" mod. The current release uses up all of the available equipment space (another words, there's 915 weapons, armours, and horses to pick from), and you can get your own kingdom. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

The next release, due out sometime this month, has...wait for it...<!--sizeo:7--><span style="font-size:36pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->1,184 fiefs!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> <!--sizeo:2--><span style="font-size:10pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->That's not counting the 30+ cities and 50+ castles, by the way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Calling the new map huge is, by far, an understatement. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I only try M&B again when somebody makes a surgery to the game and removes the fisheye syndrome. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Wow. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> they seem to have taken down some of the fisheye effect.. good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I've downloaded the 1.011 version of M&B and got a nice virus free AVG friendly crack for it too.. but there's one problem.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> I can't find Calradia Rising for version 1.011 M&B so should I just get the one that's for version 1.010? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

It'll work for either 1.010 or 1.011. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> 1.011's just a bug fix, and save games from it are apparently backwards-compatible with 1.010.

Ok. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> Gonna download that mod.. the original game indeed has lack of content/items. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

you know, at first i never noticed the iron shoulder plating of the king, making him look like some kind of gnome. makes more sense now.

Morgan.. what yer going on about? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=295804:date=Jan 7 2009, 01:24 PM:name=Deep One)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Deep One @ Jan 7 2009, 01:24 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=295804"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Ok. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> Gonna download that mod.. the original game indeed has lack of content/items. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

You might want to try the HDR mod once you get your new rig. It can make the game look spectacular, but it can bring a quad-core with 8GB of RAM and a 9600 to its knees. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Holy... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Anyways.. I think I'm gonna try some other mod for M&B because that Caldaria Rising has mainly shitloads of swadia armor and those new helmets are lacking sun and shadow effects. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Yeah, there's too much Swadian armour and not enough for the other factions. The creator has apparently found a way around the item limit, though, so maybe he'll give more to the other groups. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

The Eagle and the Radiant Cross isn't too bad, and it's got firearms. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> You also get random special items as rewards for winning major battles, including something called the Holy Redeemer, which is an eight barrel shotgun. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

The Mongol Delta mod is good if you're mainly interested in archery battles, and it has a bigger variety of items than Native: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=1028" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...=7&lid=1028</a>

Kingdom of Calradia looks like it could be good, but I haven't tried it yet: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=1043" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...=7&lid=1043</a>

Calradia at War is pretty good, and it adds Zendar back to the map: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=946" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...d=7&lid=946</a>

Don't know about this one, it sounds like it could use a little more polish, but you can apparently make your own army, with troop trees and troops you create: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=959" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...d=7&lid=959</a>

Rise of Khergits - might be good: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=957" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...d=7&lid=957</a>

There are piles of others, but many of them (and a few of these) still have serious bugs. Also, there's still piles of big mods, like Expanded Gameplay, that haven't yet been updated to the current M&B version.

And what is the best mod that adds new armors, helmets, horses, weapons/swords? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

And is there a mod that makes heads flying off when I go past some annoyance on my horse and swing my weapon at it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

For at least some new stuff in every category, I'd probably say Armed Rebalance: <a href="http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdownloads/singlefile.php?cid=7&lid=959" target="_blank">http://www.mbrepository.com/modules/PDdown...d=7&lid=959</a>

There's also Southern Realms, but it's still in early Beta. Best thing about it is the redesigned towns and castles, but it's riddled with bugs right now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Also, if you're running the game in DX7 mode, that could explain the effects missing from helmets. It's apparently some problem with DirectX, and not the game. I've run into the same thing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Even turning on directx 9 didn't remove that problem. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Btw.. I find it hilarious how those annoyances die in that game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Sometime they are like: *Splat* DIEee!! *drops dead*. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

Armed rebalance? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> I think that was the mod I played the last time I had that slaughterfest in my rig. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> I remember having a mod that had MANY armors and helmets in it.. it had shiny goldenish armors too.

Expanded Gameplay's death sounds are way better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I'm actually thinking of going and installing a copy of .903 to be able to play that and a bunch of other old mods again.

I just wish Modplosion would get ported to 1.011 - that had an awesome selection of items in it, along with encounters with parties of "Focking Mad River Pirates". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Only problem with the released version is a game-breaking bug on day 44 which is unavoidable.

And how did those sounds sound? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Were they funny? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

They sounded...uh...more realistic, I guess you could say. Running over some poor sucker with a horse resulted in a loud thump, a scream, and a crunch of something that sounded like bone. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> They were far louder, too - a cavalry charge in EG II actually sounded like a cavalry charge, and made turning up the speakers a definite no-no. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Every sound was replaced, even the game music.
