How was the morale of the crew ?
There couldve been a mutiny, especially if his crew's morale was Treacherous.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

It could have been but he did have food and rum. I also give him about 60 man so morale would have gone up a good bit and that I am paying for crew would also make morale go up. Apart from that I don't know.

I have made a folder on the FTP named <i>"+ Latest modpack update WIP"</i>. It contains the code files for the modpack update I'm working on. If you want to have a look at it, feel free. The required RESOURCE files are not in this file though. These will be in the real update I'll release in a couple of days, I hope. But if some modders already look over the code before the release, maybe you can help in fixing some of the obvious bugs I accidently added in. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I was just giving a suggestion, ppl seem to be taking what I <u>suggest</u> into the wrong context lately, but that <u>doesn't worry me</u>.

There are some oddities if you are firing upon another ship the moment you board them. After the boarding is finished, your ship finishes firiing, and the other ship might end up hostile. I had that happen tonight. I *think* he was still a companion, but had the pirate flag up instead of the proper English flag. And when I got back to Redmond, the fort fired on me, as I had fired upon an English ship. I quit the game at that point rather than being sunk. (Was testing stuff, not really playing with the intent to save anyway).

In the build settings folder there is a program that I think allows to permantely or (semi) alter your build settings. Is it working and if it is how do you make you changes permanent?

Long John Silver no your mistaken

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I still say it be nice to have more then 4 ship's in your fleet.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Was what me and SuoiveD was talking about.

To SuoiveD yes you give a suggestion and you maybe right but don't think so in this case.
I don't take what you say as wrong context, I take it as you had put it a suggestion, all suggestion you make do help, even if it maybe be wrong one. By you all putting suggestion help's to find out what's wrong and hope is put right. That is what we are all here for to get the mod right.
SuoiveD Don't stop making suggestion, don't matter what any one say's.lolz

Hook I was on way to oxbury island and stop at Greenford port was not attacked by English fort. So no not because my ship finishes firiing and went hostile lolz

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->"Make load's of suggestion to a problem, take away the suggestion that wrong and then what you have left might sort the problem lolz"<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

After he says he'll sail as your companion, you get a dialog where you confirm it. I don't remember the second choice, but it's possible you hit the wrong one.

When you go to the ship transfer screen, if the enemy captain is going to sail as your companion you should not have the option to assign an officer.

-------

On another note, has anyone else noticed that if you fire at a ship's sails, sometimes the damage goes *down*? For example, a ship has 86% sails and after firing on him he has 98%. Well, I found and fixed that one, and it will be in Pieter's next update. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

This used to bother me because I used my forward chasers a lot firing high to hit sails. I ended up repairing more enemy sails than I did my own because of this bug. This should make it look like your chainshot is doing more damage. A side effect is that the ships around an island will show appropriate sail damage when you first see them.

Have you had that where you shoot your front gun's at ship in front and you damage your own seil's at front of ship. ?

Yes, but I only noticed it on the Surprise. I got rid of that ship as quickly as I could. (Sorry to whoever likes the ship, and special apologies to the creator.)

I just wanted to say that my problems with a really choppy/bad performance game, are gone!

I got rid of a file called "memory.mp" from the root POTC folder. All works smooth as silk now. Game even loads faster, and level loading is licketysplit. Amazing, one stupid file that existed from the time of STOCK install, would cause me so much grief down the road. I mean, why should I delete the file when it was part of the stock install? Go figure.

I just wanted to post an update, as I am sure many of you have gotten tired of hearing me whine about this stupid problem.

Just did a search for memory.mp in POTC and not there. Umm can you put the root of where it is here please.

C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbean\memory.mp

Thats where it got installed.

Incedently, if you set your engine.ini to "update_mem_profile = 1"... it will create that file again! I don't suggest doing that, because it seems that file IS PURE EVVIIILLLLL!!!!

The engine.ini file also contains a setting of "mem_profile = memory.mp". However I have not touched that, and it seems to not care if the file is missing.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
This is a program made by Inez Dias. It doesn't seem to work entirely right yet. I asked Inez about it, but she didn't reply. The changed BS.h is saved as BuildSettings.h_x and not as BuildSettings.h, so the settings are not used. It also seems like that program sometimes messes up BS.h. You can try using it, but you'll need to manually copy BuildSettings.h_x to BuildSettings.h.

<b><!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->New modpack update<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></b>
Hello all,

I decided to release a small modpack update today, including all new bugfixes and some new features, but excluding the big new mods (AoP towns and edited Mateus Santos quest). The new update is available from <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.org/downloads/post_b12_upd_6-7-06_small.zip" target="_blank">here</a> (1,33 MB) and is to be installed on top of the 28 June 2006 release.

I would kindly request people try to test this update, especially the things listed below as being new/changed. I hope everything works as it should, but I apologize in advance for any errors made by me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

<b>Stuff added/fixed:</b>
- The sell loot button won't sell skill-enhancing items anymore. You can also let it sell blades you might not want by enabling it in BuildSettings.h.
- Corpses will no longer disappear while you are in a dialog, so the quests shouldn't break anymore because of that.
- You can turn off the animated interface screens in the Options > Interface Change screen.
- If you have a higher trade level than 5, you can trade with enemy traders for a lower price.
- If you capture a town, a Questbook entry will be added.
- If you find a cursed coin, something funny will happen. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
- You can't change your flag during the tutorial (to prevent trouble)
- Your officers should now follow you in all locations (also in certain locations where there used to be no officers, such as one part of FdF)
- The ammo mod was simplified. See the ReadMe about it in the <i>buildinfo</i> folder. Please test this one!
- Pressing the quicksave button when sailing should give you a notice that you can't save during sailing.
- If you sink and are put in your lifeboat, you are at a dead stop when near land (to prevent you from crashing into the land)
- If you lifeboat is sunk, you're DEAD!
- Sail damage now works properly!
- You can start as Nathaniel Nation as well. This will put you in Point a Pitre port. This function is a bit useless at the moment, because the French are hostile. However, once the AoP towns are added, it's a great way to test one of the towns straight away.
- Fred Bob is now a REAL boatswain when you hire him.
- The spacebar is now used for dialogs again, like usual.
- Several dialogs are fixed.
- Some bugs were fixed with the namechange mod. You can't accidentally close the interface while in typing mode anymore. Should save some major troubles.
- There is no "confirm" box when closing the loot interface when the looted character didn't have any items anymore.
- The Esc key has been enabled for closing the screen in several interface screens.
- The TradeBook interface has been changed: There is now space for more than 4 goods. Also: The prices for the goods are only updated when you visit the store. So if you want the price of a good, you first need to visit the store. Once you visited the store, that price will remain in the screen, until you visit again. Then the price is updated.
- Some small boarding cabin related bugs were fixed.
- The false flag detection chance calculation has been improved.
- When doing a stormy start, you won't see the tutorial cabin after the movie anymore.
- Boatswain, first mate and navigator are now default for three officer slots, so you won't need to open the passengers screen every time you hire a new officer. You still can manually change it though.
- The escape from Oxbay movie plays AFTER you have escaped from Oxbay.
- The spyglass now appears in the options > controls screen again.
- The reputation loss on boardings when enemy's blades break should have been fixed.
- All compasses now agree on what's North.
- Releasing captives should now work properly: Go to your deck when you are in a port and talk to the captive.
- Several small syntax and other errors were fixed.

Haven't touched the game in ages. So much new stuff to check out. Thanks Pieter, will test your new updates.

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

If you didn't check out the game in ages, you might not have the required 28 June update installed. You can get the 2 July update from my site. Install that first. Otherwise it'll probably not work.

Nice seeing you again, Jack! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
