Solved Fixing the Build Mod Ships

For whatever reason, my Frigate2 model was beeping in my game. Quickly rectified by HEX-editing the NL_Frigate47, but I do wonder what messed her up in the first place.
I don't remember me or anyone else touching that ship's hull GM file recently? :facepalm
 
No idea what happened there; I haven't done anything to that model recently. :shrug
 
I've never noticed that, but frigates are so rare in game that it could go unnoticed for quite some time.


EDIT: I just tried frigate2 and it did not beep for me. Those masts look short and fat now. Hmmmm. :nerbz
 
Then it's probably something I messed up. Oh well, it's fixed anyway, so no worries. Just wanted to make sure nobody else had it either. :doff
 
Any objections to unpinning this thread to clean up the amount of stickies on this forum?
Technically pretty much all ships left in Beta 2 should be in fairly good shape; some things could be done, of course, but we can always recommission the thread if necessary.
 
I am trying to import a ship I was working on from beta 1 patch 7 to beta 2.1. It will not show up in the game and I know of no reason for this. It is not a shipwalk problem of shipinit.c problem.

I know there is another ship type file somewhere but have been unable to find it. Maybe something got renamed there.
 
Which ship is that? By the sound of things, there might be a model file missing or an unwanted geometry locator; that's what usually causes CTDs.
 
Oh, it was not a ctd or anything. It was me being an airhead and forgetting to hit F11 to reinitialize. :wp


It's the Neptunus with the early rigging. I've been in poor shape since Christmas and am only now starting to slowly get back to work.
 
i noticed the 1st class galleon sold in isla de muerte (historical spannish galleon in init ship ?) has no crew on deck :shrug [its the only 56 cannon galleon if i remember good, all other common 1st class galleon have 52]

Good catch. :onya There were 2 letters added in the shipinit.c so it has no crew. That is fixed in this Ships_init.c from an unplayed beta 2 light install.

another thing: is there a way to add crew on cursed flying dutchman ? (crew as other boats, with all the animations as usual as other ships) i know you choosed to not ad cause it looked less cursed and weird, but for me thats only the thing i need to have my perfect boat ^_^ is it possible to add easily or it needs a new full code for that ship ?
 
Don't think we ever had a good crew walk file for the Dutchman. Do they have one in GoF?
 
not a prob if its too hard (= need new codes), i prefer a new code for crossbow than a new code for FD crew :wp
 
Indeed they do have a Flying Dutchman and a Cursed Flying Dutchman walk file in GOF. To put them in POTC would require adding them to 5 files in 2 folders. I know how to do that.

But don't we have a new Flying Dutchman now?
