Is anyone seeing any of the ingame movies (invasion of Oxbay, the "angel" movie if you are rescued after a "death", the Black Pearl, &tc)? Because I am not.

I have a Build 11 install of PotC where the ingame movies work just fine. They do not work for me in Build 11.99b. ???

I can only guess, but maybe the model "skel1" lacks some features necessary for officers (Had vaguely similar problems if characters lacked the right animation) Maybe using a simple model like "sailor1" as default would solve the problem??

That should probably be set to ON as default. Some of the vids are annoying, but some of them clearly add to the game and should be there.

MAYBE there should be a way to skip past them when they play, like an "escape" key... They start to play, you don't want to see them, you hit escape, and they end and the game continues (or ends). CCC, I think the answer should be that the "Skel4" needs to be the model/skin of the randomly generated officer... I would think that was the intention... As I did not do this code, I don't feel I should mess with it...

Some Problems to report:

1. I am experieinceing the CTD problem after saving Danielle in IM. It always occurs when I try to follow her to the port. I occasionally get ctd at other times and I just go back to my last save and ususally that solves the problem. NOt so with this. It just keeps happeneing.

2. AS has been mentioned before, the hull points on the ship icon is not working properly. Even when you are at 100% it only shows partial.

3. Ship money. I really think there is something off in the calulation. I have changed it 0.10 in buiildseetings as was suggested and I am still getting too much money. Over a million frequnetly. I have tried to watch this carefully and I think at the build 11 level it was about 10% of what we are now getting, pretty mcuh accross the board.
Is there a formula to tweek or should I just try it at .001.

4. I have played about 6 game months and religuosly checked every merchant every time and have yet to find a single masterwork spyglass or fine double shot pistol. Could they be missing in this version.

5. Does anyone know where the balcksimths are? I have only found the one in the Dowessen port.

1. Already fixed, by OmegaRed. It's in the CVS, but I dunno if any installable has been updated. If none have, you can do the fix by editing questsquests_reaction.c by hand, it's just a couple lines.
2. Yup, addressed above, side issue of PRS3.
3. There is indeed a formula, or more rightly three. One each for merchants, navy, and pirates. It's in Sea_AIAIFantom.c, function
void Fantom_SetRandomMoney(ref rFantom, string sFantomType)
First it defines various variables, which are based on the captain and his ship's stats.
Then it calculates the rank scalar, based on the captain's level (since level is referred to internally as rank).
Then there's a switch(), and the rank and the ship info are applied differently per type.

It's a huge problem getting it to balance right, I agree {and not something I can tackle I'm afraid, I'm just 'round now for short bugfixing and info/helping out/teaching--besides, I don't play the game, so I dunno what values fit. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

Something wrong in the capturing Greenford Quest...

Ok, here's a quick rundown. I capture the fort. I take out the soldiers out on the docks, then proceed to enter the town. I kill all the soldiers in town, but Danielle never shows up, and I am just standing there and I can't move. And yes, I did drop her off at the Lighthouse so she could attack by land. Has anybody run into the problem before?

I'm clueless as far as modding goes. I figure it is something in the Quests folder like with the bug on Isla Muella when it crashes everytime you try to go to the port after saving Danielle. I was able to fix that bug by reading this board, but could never do it by myself.

[/quote]Yes! The Greenford siege made powerfully headache for me.
Sometimes, i could not enter the town or i was'nt able to use some potions.
But when the situation was like your description, i could fix the disapearence of Danielle whith a hit of the 'i' key in harbor after killing the soldiers. Now, when i entered the town, Danielle was also there. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

At first - It´s working now! I turned on the error logs and it said that I was missing some *.c file. So I added this from my PROGRAM folder backup. Crash again and the log said I needed another *.c file so I realized that you should NOT delete the original PROGRAM folder and replace it with the build folder as stated in the README of the build (!) but REPLACE the files of the original PROGRAM folder. You should really add this to the build 12 readme. Well, So it does work now. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

This is the MOST WELLMADE MOD I HAVE EVER SEEN. You guys literaly MADE the game. A completely NEW and BETTER game. You changed it from a "`pirate-morrowind`" to a real pirate game! The changes are very impressive. Surprisingly polished AND stable. I mean - you even changed the dialogue and added armor!!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> If Sid Meier would have made a mod.. ah well, i´m going off topic! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

AND I found a bug - as well as the cause and a workaround:

When your wheat is getting low or even 0 and your crew is starving and let´s say you will have 5 or 6 of them dying in the next two days if you wait anyy longer without anything for them to eat - you can NOT go to the Ship Yard!! When you go to the Ship Yard in this situation it gets weird colors in the repair menu which will be a sign for the game CRASHING back to desktop (CTD) when clicking Repair/ or Repair All.
I tried it many times, always the same - at least in Redmond where I encountered this bug. So I bought enough wheat for 22 days and got back to let my ship be repaired - and - it WORKED. Otherwise no problems so far <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Everything working nice and smooth!

Questions to the modmakers:

1. Can you see the jolly roger flag in the game actually when sailing as a pirate?

2. Can you burry/hide your treasures/loot/bounty on islands/caves somehow?

It was my experience with Build 11 that if you enabled Debug so as to have access to all of the skins instead of buying then at the tailors, then selected any of the Skel skins, you would be invisible but also unable to move around. I assumed that was because skeletons were eliminated from the game and replaced with smugglers in build 11
 
The skeleton skins, models and everything are still in the game. The only change in Build 11 was that characters in dungeons are being generated with fleshy "smuggler" models instead of bones only.
