Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

Well it was activated.. I didn't get further cause my character wanted to stay sitting after another party Black Jack, so I had to reload and I didn't managed to activate the quest again :facepalm :D

Now for the girl won in cardgame, I played as Jack Aubrey, didn't test the other storylines yet. And I got to Martinique. The quest is close to finish. It stops in the Tavern (when when we caught Virginie's BF with another girl) when the other girl talks to me but with blank conversation. After that, the game continues to run but I can't move (Controls are locked). Tried three times from an early save and same results.
Another girl, eh? Might be some missed dialog stuff. I'll check it. :doff

Started getting these error messages when I used this.
Those were even in the unmodded game, though apparently less frequent. I don't know what it means and never noticed any harm from it either. :shrug

EDIT: I'm trying to find the original discussion where the brothel dialogue was changed, but I can't find any evidence of it before the Beta 1 Patch 6 changelog. WTF? :modding
Couldn't remember. I'll have it removed from the changelog.

Okay I tested the girl-won in card game, it works.
But.. is it intended that you can draw your sword and kill your gambling partner? :D You get your whole money back if you do that and you don't even get reputation loss :D
Intended? Of course not. But there are a lot of things possible that aren't intended.

But it was pretty cool :D everytime I got frustrated because he won like 10 times in a row I just quit, draw my sword and killed him, and got even all my money back :D If there would be MUCH reputation loss, I think we should do it "intended" :D

Extract attached to your main game folder. Does that make it work?

Does the guy have a weapon? If you get to kill him, is that a dialog choice? Or do you just DO it? If it is a dialog choice, adding a rep loss would be easy enough.
Does the guy have weapons?

no, he didn't had any weapon. I even got reputaion-loss logs, but only -1 and -2 for hitting an unarmed citizen... not enough for this :D :whipa
I killed him by just draw my sword in the tavern, which was a bit confusing for me, that I even could draw my sword there. There was a tavernbrawl before, and my game didn't noticed that the battle was over. But then I re-entered the tavern again and I still could draw my sword.
Then I got this error that my character wanted to stay sitting, so I had to reload the last save. And then I couldn't reproduce it.. :shrug

Sounds like that tavern brawl might have made unintentional stuff happen.

:yes .. but I more like the idea of an dialog... like if you lost more then 5000 bucks you can fight with him...reminds me of Red Dead Redemption, when you got caught at cheating at poker.. then you had to do a duel, you killed him, went bac to the saloon and just continued playing poker with a guy less :D

According to the walkthrough, there might be such a dialog option once you go up to the room with the guy.

For now, I'll be happy if we just get what we have working sort-of right.

The puritan public should be reminded that, these things are always to be chosen in game, quests etc. If you do not want to be stranded on an island having such conversation you of cource won't get there. But as for the idea, it's better having it on at least one beach with a palm /and the nude model or half-covered shouldn't be such a difficulty as there are for GTA/ than in these dirty AoP 1 brothels with farm-looking women. It's not just what you say, it's where you are and that can be a real quest....

p.s. But when I think again - puritan pirates ?! :facepalm:cool

I've never seen that. I've seen links, but never a working one.
Anyway, I have no care about such a mod. I can't stop other people from doing it, of course, but there are about one million other things I'd rather see done.
Stuff like that can be found in many, many other places on the Internet anyway. I don't think it adds much of anything to the pirate experience.
It just makes the end result less classy in my book. :shrug

I do not propose to introduce something similar to "Sex Villa" game, just to change the exterior and models who so and so now, are having such dialogues ingame. So it's even more classy than possible.

It works just fine in the latest WIP 17. It's interesting for a few minutes and then I forget about it. It might enhance the brothels if it could be restricted to just there.

With the Assassin story line, if you customize your game from the new game select screen and choose to change ships, you can potentially choose a ship with too little cargo space to carry the required amount of ale for the initial quest.

Crickey! Those women are mean. Went to Tortuga to check out a brothel. The women on the street didn't quite kill me but it weren't from lack of trying. Escaped into the brothel and did get killed there.

Now I remember why I quit going there. :8q

What goes on in the brothel that kills you? Those women hitting you in Tortuga are NOT in there.
Also, does the "HP restore" there manage to keep you alive? I didn't even get killed testing at level 1.

We can't prevent the player from causing weird storyline effects through customization.
We can either prevent it altogether or leave it up to the discretion of the player.
As I see it, if you want to play the story as intended, you shouldn't change too much. :unsure

do you know what happens if you go to open sea behind Cartagena? I think the Flying Dutchman breaks all Speed-Records :D seadogs2_0288.jpg
