I get no chance by this capture, it´s ending in the water..... but I fight actually in the fort!

The next Town, the next problem: I´ve already capture the fort, but now is no way to travel in the Town:

One question again: If I prepare my officer as governor, whats the advantage for me? He talk to me like a foreigner, the same as the old governor.

Forts are limited to 8 locators total, which should work with any fort... as long as it HAS locators. There may be something wrong with the Guadeloupe fort. If you have the system, compile and error logs from that, post them so I can have a look.

More likely it's the laptop in that case. They usually have integrated graphics, and those almost never work, especially Intel. Good luck with it all.

If you don't make port in the same town on an island, the shopkeepers don't always get updated. They have zero money and don't have goods to sell. I've got that one on my to-do list. I think I know where the problem is.

This happens if you make port at a beach somewhere and walk through the jungle to a town, or make port in a town on the island then travel to another town.

I think a lot of the locations in Eleuthera aren't finished yet.

I have installed Build 14 Alpha 9 and want to set the game to <b>wide-screen resolution</b>. I was able to do it with the stock/other builds, by changing the rsolution in the <!--fonto:Courier New--><span style="font-family:Courier New"><!--/fonto-->engine.ini<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc--> file. But now I don't think <!--fonto:Courier New--><span style="font-family:Courier New"><!--/fonto-->CONFIG.EXE<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc--> saves to <!--fonto:Courier New--><span style="font-family:Courier New"><!--/fonto-->engine.ini<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc--> anymore, because it does not change to reflecct changes I make in CONFIG.EXE. However, changes I make are visible. I want to be able to change the game to widescreen resolution.

The file exists but the game does not read/use it.

I think I followed your installation instructions carefully. But when I ran <!--fonto:Courier New--><span style="font-family:Courier New"><!--/fonto-->RunMe.bat<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->, it sometimes says <!--fonto:Courier New--><span style="font-family:Courier New"><!--/fonto-->file not found<!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->.

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place. Please correct me.

Had the problem not finding anybody to talk to! Than trying to get of the Island is another mayor problem: Direct sail does not get you anywhere and trying to use the map is a disaster, like the controls do not work W does nothing S turns the ship to the left, A turns right, D brings up the the view and the right mouse button gets u back to sail! Did not change any controls! Sailing for a while in sailmode, returning to map, the ship's in the same position just of the island. Tried that several times and same result! Can't work the F1 screen only the bottom button works to get outa the game! Other than that had fun up to that point <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
I'll continue to sail to the other islands and see what awaits me there. Barbados, Grenada, Bonaire are in good shape <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

thanks awfully for prompt attention. It`s always been the Z key, but it`s not mentioned in the original manual nor in the earlier build instructions AFAIR. So I actually discovered it by accident earlier.

Re my boarding thing, I`m talking abt. boarding a surrendered ship. I play at the hardest possible settings with the weapons you suggest and at lvl 3 with both defence abilities have problems with one on one against everybody... Not to mention at lvl 1... No help from the guards either... Strange as I recall that playing earlier versions of the build at identical settings seemed too easy for me. Has the difficulty of difficulty been increased?

But I played build a couple of yrs ago before returning now, have problems with using correct buttons and all, so it can be me only for all I know.

Wow, Nosie! Those Eleuthera problems are a bit expontentially crazy! I know the locations and characters are very much unfinished (still need to include philippe's work on that, but I got confused last time I tried), but your controls shouldn't end up messed up! Who did you talk to before that happened? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Your own governor and soldier dialogs haven't been made yet, really. The advantage of assigning your own governor is that the town is now yours and you get taxes. I don't think anybody in the game minds if you set the taxes ridiculously high either. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
The Colony Management is still an unfinished feature.

Sometimes the RunMe.bat gives error messages when trying to move files that are already where they need to be or delete files that are already not there. It shouldn't be anything to worry about. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

Not that I know of, but one thing has changed that will make sword fighting harder: you can take damage even if you successfully block a hit. Previously you could block all day long and not get hurt. Now that doesn't work. With the other inititems.c file you could easily get killed in one hit, even while successfully blocking.

I usually run from fights until I've got some experience. And silver armor. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

If you sword fight with Malcolm during the tutorial you should get up to about level 4 melee using the auto skilling system.

one thing with Hendrik van der Decken, isn't it a bit odd that he only sells the Pearl to pirates, i mean, he sells the Dutchman to anybody because it has no nationality, but the Pearl is prates only, now i think of it, the Dutchman i the only ship he will sell to anybody.

I also use Notepad, but the problem I "had" was that Config.exe won't edit the file and even when I had edited it with Notepad, the ENGINE would not use those settings.

Now it is solved. I had to use "Run as Administrator" in Vista because I installed it in "Program Files."

I am now re-installing the game again because the game give a C++ Runtime Error, saying that the game has [<!--coloro:#A0522D--><span style="color:#A0522D"><!--/coloro--><i>i forgot this part, i think abrupt</i><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->]ly ended. When the splash screen says it has finished initializing.

Anyways it's a great mod.

And a few more questions:
1). Are all the quests included complete.
2). Is there a cheat mode (ya know? just in case)
