Yeah true a beta CD would be nice but i would be just happy if i can get even in the beta. Look at you `Beta-Profile` under build delivery method. I think if you choose ftp you will be able to download it if you're chosen. And mail stands for cd (delivery via mail and not email like I fist thought (which would be crazy and impossible anyway)).
 
Yeah I would say that ftp would be easier...that way you get the game allot quicker than snail mail...I dunno though I havent heard anything about international beta testing.....most of the time companies will say somthing.

It would be allot easier to beta test a game all over the world that dosent rely on internet servers and that way you would get a broader range of testers.

We, it looks like we will all have to wait for tuesday. I don't think it will happen monday because of labor day. I for one want FTP. Jeff, can you give us an update. I know you are out today, but tuesday is a new day. I would like to know if the beta is going out this week, if the checking did open up spots on the beta, and do you have any plans for expanding the beta? Thanks for th help and I hope you have a good three day weekend!

Wid a release date o' November 16, thar hain't really dat much time left tew identify de `show-stoppers`, provide feedback, make changes, an' den `re-test` dem changes in time fer de release date, is there? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":|" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" />
 
You'd be suprised at how quickly bugs can be fixed. Once bugs are uncovered and reported, often times they can be tested in house once they are fixed. That kind of thing usually goes on right up until a product goes gold. There is still plenty of time to get a CD in the mail, get some testing feedback, issue a patch online, some quality control testing, errata added to the manuals and then ready to ship on the release date.

Any moment now, folks. They've printed the CDs today, I'm told. (It will be a CD and not a download. No, that does not automatically exclude folks outside the continental U.S., though I admit the final selection by necessity was weighted more heavily towards North Americans.)

Yeah I know...these forums are becoming less active as we get closer to the release of the beta/game you would think they would take off
