Beta / Avast

I was wondering if we could get an offical word on when the beta for Pirates will begin. I know you have the data, but if it will take a while please tell us. That way we are not waiting around for an answer. Also, this is by far the best interaction on a 3rd party web site between a company and its customers. I am very happy to see what is happening. Hi zac999,

I don't have a definitive date, but we're shooting for it to start by the first full week of September. Hopefully we will be able to select the beta participants this week. Honestly, I wish I could give each and every one of you a slot in this beta, but we're already up to several thousand applicants for what will be a couple hundred slots (at most).

I know that the parameters of the NDA can be very frustrating for `non-testers` who want to know more about the game. As I might have mentioned before, I'm working on a method such that I might be able to publicly release some information from testers so that people can at least vicariously participate in the beta and keep up with people's reactions and impressions to playing the game.

I was looking around at the other sites that have quoted this site. From reading there sites it sounds like the beta starts next week. However, reading Jeff’s post it sounds like the beta selection might start this week. With the beta testing *hopefully* starting the following week. If this is the case, everyone got to sign up for the beta. You can always tell from the beta comments if it is good or bad. Actually, it's still intended to be exclusive. I hadn't anticipated that other sites would post the email in its entirety. Please listen to this hold music while we `double-check` everyone randomly chosen to see if they're on the subscriber list or not. (It may cost an extra day or so.) We'll be with you shortly.

Well I did subscribe. But I gave a new Email Adress when I was signing to the Beta. Is that a problem?

Problem is my old Email Adress is maybe going offline. I'm the Admin of the Server and the Hardware is going soon to fail (it's a University Server). Sad thing is no one is listening to me and as only a Student I'm not allowed to order new Hardware there. My superiors there really don't know anything about Administration. It's a sad thing when Students are responsible for main University Servers.
