What happened to you being overloaded with college work for the next two weeks ,Stallion? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I'm actually still in high school - that's the result of unfortunately ending up with a teacher in Grade 8 who had a profound dislike of any and all things male. Me and about half of the class were held back a grade for no real reason (I had a 90% average in my grades the previous year, and mysteriously dropped to 49% in Grade 8 ), and the school administration sided with the teacher when our parents went after her.

I've got two or three big assignments left, but after that, I have 4 finals this month and 6 in June. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> And the administration is pushing to have our year extended to the end of July, citing "poor student performance" as the reason, although slacking teachers is more like it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Needless to say, I'll be disappearing for quite a while in about a week. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Really? I just assumed you were in college due to your age. Are there 12 grades there in Canada? Down here in the states we are either 17 or 18 in 12th grade.

I started late for my age. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I think Ontario has Grade 13 still, but it's apparently a year-long university prep class. Actually, if I was like most people in Alberta, I would have dropped out after Grade 10 (this province has a 63% high school dropout rate). Everyone blames it on the tar sands, but it's more because of the high tuition for all the post-secondary schools, which eliminates all but a select few from admission.

One of my buddies went in to become a vet, and had to quit because the school kept raising the tuition rates - he now owes $20,000 to the bank for a course he was only in for two months.

You have to come up with tuition for secondary schools? Brutal. Here they just tax the hell out of us. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Everyone pays for everyone's schooling. College is when you go into personal debt. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Yep <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> The government's planning on taxing stuff we buy used now, too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The only time we pay for other people's schooling is when exchange students come over here for free college or university educations <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> , then they go back home.

I already know where I'm headed - the construction industry. It's really my only option, although I'd rather have a more steady job.

It's looking like it'll become ice cold in a bit for anyone born here - the government's bringing in foreign labour by the plane- and boatload to take over our own jobs. Alberta "welcomed" over 2 million o'the little buggers last year alone.

Although I try my best to be nice to most of the new immigrants, the current situation's making this a harder thing to do. Most of the newcomers step on everyone and anyone, and those who've been here for years often suffer the brunt of the discrimination. The environmentalists have begun putting up a good fight over oilsands development too, so things here have become a little dicey since the government sometimes sides with Greenpeace over things they really shouldn't. Recent incidents over malfunctioning sonic cannons <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> have just added fuel to the environmentalist's fire.

I'm just glad I no longer live in British Columbia - there, immigrants outnumber those born here by 6 to 1! Of course, my grandfather (the bloody bugger) taught me from a young age to fear immigration. The first time I seen a Hindu, I reportedly screamed, "It's the boogeyman!", and tried to kick the poor guy in the nads. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Hmmm. Your government flies them in and they take jobs. They sneak in over the Mexican border here and take the jobs. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Well, the crappy jobs anyway. Toilet scrubbing. Dishwasher. That type of thing.

What jobs are the immigrants flying in doing?

Anything here that's high-paying, like doctors, financial stuff, running the government <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> It's an immigrant that runs the immigration department <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

They sneak in by train from Mexico as well <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I seen a program on it a while ago, where a Canadian TV crew travelled with six guys coming up here. All of them made it, and the two guys who established a homeless shelter for Canadians (!) were deported <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

It doesn't help that you could probably fit all our border patrol people in a Mini, either <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Although, apparently what patrols along the Alberta - Montana border on the US side is 11 guys on Mustangs, who cover something like 200 km looking for, and I quote, "WMD's" (no mention of illegals). As if a terrorist wouldn't here them coming <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The crappy jobs you mentioned are what's left for us <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I saw a show where they had a camera stationed at the Mexican border, and everytime they openend up the gate to let a car pass in about fifteen illegals ran in after the car went through and before they could close the gate and then scattered into the brush, never to be seen again. And as they checked the paperwork on the next car, you saw the illegals massing again to wait for the gate to open. This went on for hours. I didn't know whether to laugh, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> cry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> or scream. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

In regards to the Canadian/US border, that is the longest undefended border in the world, as the eleven guys on mustangs can attest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

There used to be a webcam somewhere on the U.S./Mexico border, although I don't remember what website it was on. I once timed it for fifteen minutes, and 63 o'the buggers got through! That's nuts!

The program I seen made the people on your side look like they were working for Canada <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> - any time someone came through from the U.S., our border people were contacted by the Americans about the crossing. Apparently, all our people do is practice sticking their fingers up their butts. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Ah, but there is a reason for that. The sight of the guards standing there with their fingers up their butts causes confusion in the criminal mind and thus makes it easier to catch them after they cross. Unfortunately, the guards never put the second part of that plan into action as the illegals cross unmolested while the guards pick their asses. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_twisted.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_twisted.gif" />

Sounds like another bunch of !#¤%#!#¤%&!&#¤%¤%&#%&@#¤%&##!#!&%&¤&#!!!!!!!!!!! A'holes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />

True. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

madness. sometimes you wonder what the government is thinking anyway. they're building wind-powered electricity genrators over here, you know, those windmills. helloooooo! there's a huge amount of disused wooden and thatched old windmills standing <i>right next to them!</i> build the bloody dynamo in those! it's not like there's any difference in performance.

Oh, but there is! The politicians want something that's <i>new</i> and <i>shiny</i>! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Our government this morning secretly discontinued the program that allowed media to easily access government documents. I smell a dictatorship <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

i've got to admit i'm fascinated by them though. they're indeed very shiney in the morning sunlight. sometimes you only see the top of them because of all the mist, which makes it look as if there's some secret propeller-powered flying lab hiding in a cloud. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

i found a website of the FBI once. the link? www.fbi.com. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> you'd think they'd think of something else for security. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
