I'll make an entry in my `to-do`-list to put such a functionality into the tool. (Though I'm afraid that `to-do`-list is getting longer and longer <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> )
 
Uploaded a new version of the tool to the usual spot <a href="http://home.arcor.de/swigard/Downloads/TOOL/" target="_blank">http://home.arcor.de/swigard/Downloads/TOOL/</a>.
It can now display models in a 3D View (DirectX9 needed):

This is not really so much useful, because you can do the same thing with Gm Viewer (except it works with tga textures instead of tx). Yeah, I've been considering that, too, even at my own "advanced age".
But actually we're quite a good team without it, are we not ?
BTW, I learned DirectX through the "offcial" tutorials in the Microsoft SDK, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> and should you decide to dive into that I'm willing to give what help I can.

What I need to do more than anything at the moment tho, is buckle down and learn more about XML - it's the coming thing in web design, and while it's not quite YET the language we wish it to be, I do need to know it if any of my web clients decide they want something of it on their website... I don't use a WYSIWYG HTML editor; I want to understand the code so I can write it in a text editor - and fix something if it's gone wrong or needs to be altered or edited...

I also need to dig more into compliance with the new accepted HTML... Uploaded another new version. You can now easily add objects to a scene (for example a room), move them about, rotate or resize them without any locators or coding.

For this you *needn't * be able to model! Just doubleclick an item (like a chest) in a listbox and it appears in the room. Then use sliders to change its position. I have some stock objects and plan to cut out some more, but you can also use any model you can find in VRML format (textured).

My own time is sort of dwindling, I find, though I've still got the most free time on my hands of all the grad students here. Actually my problem now is my attention span getting shorter and shorter when I try and sit and mod. Plus everyone else keeps giving me neat new toys to play with... I'll get your tool now Inez. Sixth new version in the past month, if I count right?
 
Sorry about the number of updates. Today I even had two on one day. When I find something I just can't wait to tell everybody.

Yeah, I don't mind at all... though I've fallen behind in my ability to understand and anticipate how to use all the new features. But that only says good things on your abilities, y'see.

Actually though, I've a request. Could you update the `how-to` file a little more, with fuller instructions on how to each the new features? For instance, this "create new room" feature?
