Things I haven't released yet

My current game version is 5,10 GB and there's still plenty left to add. Really Build 14 with everything included is already going to be far over the 1 GB in download size. Now if we add a seperate cabin model for every single ship, that is going to easily add another whole GB to the download size. There's no point in having THAT many cabins though. We just need a couple and distribute them to those ships for which they are appropriate. Only if a ship truly calls for a different cabin do we need to make one. The Flying Dutchman and Black Pearl are the most obvious examples. I wonder if making a completely new inside cabin location for the Dutchman would be possible. I would settle for a greenish retexture of one of the current cabin models.

COOL! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

That cabin should indeed have a organ in it and then you can play that...
*LOUD Davy Jones theme starts to play* <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

well, my idea was to remove the ceiling of a cabin, and build a new far higher section on top of it. you can't get there anyway, so the collisiion detection wouldn't matter. the only problem would be the organ.

It might be possible using 3D Studio MAX and the Tool. But only if somebody is willing to try it. Might be possible to replace the table in one of the cabins with a modeled organ. Would be fun.

Raising this one from the depts:
I have a whole load of new pictures of things I have released, but not anounced and things I am working on:

<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>Characters</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/Blazeofficers.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/JackSparrowofficer.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

None of it are released. I made these officer outfits for Nathiel and Jack with the idea of giving the uniforms if you are promoted by a nation (Must make some skins for France and Spain + Holland and Portugal). Pieter wrote a little piece of code for that function. I haven't tested it yet, but the game didn't crash, so it was legit code <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>Ships</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/RedoneColonialSchooner.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/RedoneColonialSchooner2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/RedoneBritishFourthRate.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/RedoneBritishFourthRate2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Mostly redone skins of some older ones, things I didn't like. The redone colonial schooner is already in my FTP folder and in Pieter's alpha 6 update 2. Didn't like the skin, it was to opac, a bit too amaturistic.
The British Fourth Rate of Seb (with the 64 gun SOL rigging of Cap'n Hawk), also that one I have redone, with the same reasons as the colonial schooner (this one isn't released yet.

<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>Locations</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/Boardingdecknew.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I thought the boarding locations from the Russian mods were too bright, so I retextured it with some textures of the stock boarding deck too make it look more weathered and used. This one is also uploaded in my ftp folder.

Very cool, Thomas! I hadn't seen that Fourth Rate yet. Very good! The stern looks beautiful! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

that's the first of the floating bricks i actually like. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> there's a little fault in the boarding deck, at closer inspection: there's no holes in the capstan to stick the poles in. but nevermind that, it looks really cool! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> i can't really see that many differences on that colonial schooner, only the recolored masts. anyway, that's one of my favorite little ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

I think there ARE holes in there, but they're modeled and you can hardly see them because of a lack of shadows.

i see. well, actually, don't. in a different way. anyway, i've seen something siilar with the booms of some ships. during the night, because of the fact that all booms are only half-modeled, you can see moonlight on the wrong side of the boom. and that's not the reversed lighting bug.

Pardon me but this floating brick has no crew on it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Should be easily fixed. I'll check it tomorrow. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
BTW: There is one royal navy ship with a severely messed up texture. This was caused by the ship being assigned the wrong model for its texture. I fixed this in my own game version and added the fix to the (temporarily unavailable) Build 14 Alpha 6 Update 2. Not sure which ship it was: Either the Third Rate or the Fourth Rate. I think it was the Third. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Hmm, my guess is that he has it "walk" turned off as the "fearless_walk.c" file has sailors walking beyond and aft of the ship.

It does? SeaNorris, we could use your help again... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Well, I'm talking about the original "fearless_walk.c" that the "bricks originally used.
I don't know if a better version has been made yet.

I'll take that floating brick remark as a compliment <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Really good officers Thomas, now we even have EITC officers as well! And that kind of textures makes you want those ships! Love it all!

But (there is always a but) would it be possible to do a bit variation to the officers´faces?
I would have written something about historically accurate beards here, because I read in some book, how that kind of beard they all have (and is fashion today) was not even "invented" at that time, sideburns and goatee was high fashion. Nevertheless, the main character in PotC, Nathaniel, is carrying one. So just forget it all <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Superb skins! I'm impressed!
Whould there be possible in terms of coding to actually have the same character face/building but automatically upgrade the suit of clothes when being promoted, then?
I admire this work!

As usual Thomas, outstanding work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
