i'm having the same thing with one of the fans. i suspect it's either getting dusty or one of the bearings is worn out. i think i might have necked it while cleaning the fins. as for the other noises, it makes several clunks, clicks and rumbles while starting up and hardly ever stops rumbling afterwards. while defragmentating it sounds like a WW I fighter plane in full combat, machinegun sounds and everything. sometimes it gives out one or more clunks when it needs to find a different spot on a cd while the thing's spinning way too fast for that to be sensible.
meanwhile, my hands are shaking for some reason. i feel like a coffee addict. i have the wierd suspicion this is because of her. they always stop shaking when she's around. sounds disturbing.
