Hi mateys,
I bought the game two days ago in Germany.... and I bring it back to the trader now. Do yourself a favor and read my statement and look for other criticisms in your country before you buy this nightmare of a game.
I'm really very disappointed:
- Game handling like stock PotC, could be really better
- For me grafic in parts is more bad than PotC, and PotC is 6 years old
- Some music is the same like in "Sea Dogs" from the year 2000, with the same sound quality
- After a while the music makes you crazy, because of boring and simple sound
- It's not possible to give your caracters and officers new names, names made by the game are almost bull....
- Gameplay similar to PotC, nothing new, no female officers
- The same goods for trading as in PotC, nothing new
- Within 8 hours gameplay 2 CtD's, 2 times frozen and 1 time the program prefered to restart my computer during action <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

- After some hours you have learned all quest dialogs from the NPC's because they have always the same quest
- Accompanying vessels you can fit with a captain, but not with other officers like a gunner etc.
Positive I find
+ some different questlines
+ more possibilities to create abilities of pchar and officers
+ Fencing gives you more possibilities now, but is much harder, especially for beginners
In my mind the game is not well balanced. If you have loaded rum ... be sure, your crew will drink it completly during your next trip, and the rats eat gunpowder and balls also. And if you give your 2. ship, a shooner, the order to sail away, be glad if it doesn't sail right into the arms of enemy's battleship.

Das ist das schlechteste Spiel, was ich je in der Hand hatte: Grafik ist genau so schlecht wie die des Vorgängers (man fühlt sich etwa wie 10 Jahre in der PC-Zeit zurückversetzt), nach nicht einmal 10 Minuten kann man 50% der Texte (es gibt natürlich KEINE Sprachausgabe für Dialoge) auswendig, den Quests zu folgen ist nett ausgedrückt eine Herausforderung, bei Seegefechten kann man froh sein, wenn der Kahn überhaupt schießt (in meiner Version geht das leider nicht!!!) und die KI der Mitkämpfer ist so furchtbar, dass diese einem nicht nur im Weg stehen und sinnlosest möglich angreifen, NEIN die gehen auch auf feindliche Patroullien los, wenn man den Auftrag hat, sich ohne Alarm auszulösen in eine feindliche Stadt zu schleichen! Ich könnte die Mängelliste unendlich fortsetzen, es geht mir jedoch schon besser, wenn ich hiermit andere vor dieser Schandtat schützen kann und anderen eine ähnliche Enttäuschung wie mir ersparen kann.
Ich meine es nur gut mit Euch: LASST DIE HÄNDE VON DIESEM SPIEL!
P.S.: Wer hofft, dass ein Patch Besserung bringen kann, dem möchte ich noch die Illusion nehmen, ein paar Flicken reichen hier absolut nicht, man müsste das Spiel rundherum neu programmieren. </i>"<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

This is the badest game I ever have had in my hands: grafic as bad as in the pregame ( you feel yourself moved back 10 years of PC developement), after 10 minutes you have 50% of the texts in your mind (for dialogs there is no german speech version included), following the quests is, to be polite, a challenge, during sea battles you can be glad if the cutter is able to fire (in my version it failed!!!), and the KI of your warriors is so terrible, that they are not only in your way and attack without sense, NO, they also attack enemy's patrols during your secret mission, where you have to creep into a hostile town. Endless I could continue this lack list, but I feel much better if I can protect other people against this scandalous deed and spare other people a similar disappointment I had. I'm thinking very well when I say to you: PUT AWAY YOUR HANDS FROM THIS GAME!
P.S.: If somebody hopes that a patch will make it better, this person I want to take away the illusion, absolutely some repairs won't be enough, you had to program the game in a new way.<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
I don't want to commend it further. From 7 rewiews I found in Germany only 1 was positive. Game Star, one of the large game magazines, gave this game 54%, and so the price is EUR 39,99 for scrap.
Finally my personal impression is, play PotC build 13 included, have fun and wait for East Indian Company in the hope, that the developers there have learned their lessons.
