The City of Abandoned Ships Availability Thread

<a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/index.php?page=product&what=view&sku=DD-AOP2CAS" target="_blank">http://www.gamersgate.com/index.php?page=p...;sku=DD-AOP2CAS</a>
Looks like the game it will be available on gamersgate. As a side note, Age of Pirates: Carribean Tales it's also available on gamersgate and priced at 15 euro.
Yay! Good news for me, as the distribution for anything else that doesn't come from the big publishers, in my country it' s almost inexistent. So I end using digital download...And me loves a shiny new box.

Here in the Netherlands there aren't no retailers who sell copies of this game. I went to a specialized game shop today. They could confirm that it was released in Germany, but it wasn't in their database.

Hey Mates!

I had buyed my Age of Pirates 2 COAS in Saturn Market here in Germany!

And there was not only ONE Box with the game lol........

Strange thing, I just saw that on Gamespy :

I just checked Gamestop's site, and it now says that preorders will ship on May 26th?? I'm wondering if it has anything to do with that "RP" on the box art we're all seeing online? I don't know about how it is in Europe, but they take that pretty seriously here in the states. Ugh- wouldn't it figure that it gets pushed back another two weeks over here.

I just called Gamestop again to check whether they had any come in with their shipments and they didn't have any. They also keep telling me its not listed on their store computers and they can't give me any idea of when it will come in. Plus they keep telling me that they don't handle pc stuff much any more which I already know.

So who knows. If there is an online supplier that proves to actually have them in their inventory that may be the best way to go because who knows when any retail stores may have any.

Gamestop's USA website is now showing ship date of May 26, 2009. This is the only website listing its availability for US shipment I have found. I checked local Best Buy and Gamestop store, and it's not in their computer's yet. I thought that if your trying to sell something that you market everywhere that you can get it on the shelf and/or website. Making money on this game must not be important to Playlogic and Akella as ship dates and sales location would be easy to find!

That makes two of us. The Playlogic forum is about as useful as a soup spoon with holes in it, and the "Store" option on the website doesn't work. What in the world is wrong with this company?

Dunno what's wrong with Playlogic, but their forums are full of spambots. So they care about their customers THAT much.

<!--quoteo(post=319588:date=May 13 2009, 08:44 PM:name=wolfsrain)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (wolfsrain @ May 13 2009, 08:44 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=319588"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Dunno what's wrong with Playlogic, but their forums are full of spambots. yea theres a software pirate on there forum to lol he wants watever rumruner is

Dunno, what that soft is, but definitely a serious company wouldn't have something like that on their forums. The security is much tighter on forums like Bioware's , EA's and so on. Hell, even 1C Publishing has an excellent security on their forums. But Playlogic's forums are like a ghost town, where everyone can do whatever they want.

This UK site is showing shipping date on 1st week of June , odd is amazon are totally clueless about when they will get the game !!

hello <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
To me it looks like they want to sell to eurozone first. in finland it was 37 euros, you got paper map and paper user manual too, but it was a high price for 2007 game. in us it will I think cost less but it will come to us gamestops after high price selling in eurozone first,I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

And now Newegg.com is showing a release date of May 26th as well. Hopefully it's to fix any errors that might have squeaked through. Still, I was already sick of Playlogic before this, and it's almost making me not want to buy the game because I don't want to support them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

You can avoid seeing Playlogic getting your money pretty easily - wait until the game's a couple years old, then buy a copy. That's what I did with Age of Pirates. The guy at the counter said EB/Gamestop gets ALL the money from the sale of their discounted games, since they already paid the publishers months ago. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Went down to the local PC game places today in my city and couldnt find a copy (nothing saying it even existed) we only really have EB Games though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I'm heading over to the big city ("Melbourne") in June though so will have a look there for it hopefully I can find it

Hope to buy sometime this summer.

Gamespy is now showing a release date of 30 June 2009 for the US now. And not a peep out of anybody at Playlogic on their forums or website. Does anybody else think this is all just a bunch of utter bull?

Just got mine few days ago by DHL from Amazon.de - the german mail order shop of Amazon.com.
Payment by CC.
Delivery to EU in 48 hrs hereby confirmed: I ordered Sunday - picked up at the post office in my small town far south of Copenhagen - Denmark, Tuesday.

The diplay on the game pack is in German, but no worries <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> the option of installing the ENGLISH version from the disc is available already from the start menu... and the whole game is of course in English if this install option is chosen without further set-up.

Sole minus for the English speacker is that the booklet inside the pack describing game and commands is in German.
However as soon as the player gets into the English menues things become obvious.

...

so far I'm thrilled with CoaS
Havn't played as much as I wanted.. sole 20 hrs... because I'm in the middle of an exam session.
Impressive migration of the stable PotC stable features to a new engine and set-up.

No crush or bug issue those first 20 hrs... but ok I have a huge rig dedicated to nothing but my mindscaping with the pirate games, while all my work and stuff is on a separate PC...

My personal advice: Get the game!!!!
