Pre Build 13 Modpack

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Pieter,

Please see my previous post of issues in the March 6 version, and two new things.

1. This one is amusing. -- After killing an enemy whose blade broke I looted the corpse and was allowed to take his fists. I then had 2 pair of fists one of which I didn't need. The next corpse I looted I gave him the extra fists. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

2. Going in to FDF to stop the ammunition ship I raised Hawks's colors, and was attacked by the fort. I fired back and took the town, but couldn't go into the port to advance the game. I will try this with British colors and see if that makes a differnce and then French. Any one else have this problem? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Jason. I ran into the fist situation myself. Tried to figure out how to use four fists, but no luck. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

On the FD issue, I used the Portuguese flag and that seemed to work. However, I came under fire when pirates were attacking the fort. Sunk the pirates and I was allowed to dock. Hope this helps.

I guess I attacked to many French fleets ,I can,t even sneak into FDF under French flag ! Guess I'll have to find a diplomat

wait, why waste the money you would have to spend on a Diplomat?

first, have you tried using a Portuguese flag?

two, have you tried entering sailing view out of range of the fort's cannons and waiting to see the "we're recognized, Cap'n!" when flying a false flag of a country allied to france?
if it shows up, leave sailing mode to map mode, then enter again...

three, Don't you have a MOW berthed somewhere? if you do, use it.[may ruin the fun of a challange in sinking it like that]

Four, do you have a naval rank in a country against france? if you do and havent left them before, tell them you can't serve them anymore, then go to FDF and get in, take the ship, sink it and return to that governor again, get your rank back and talk to Silehard.
Hope That Helps.

was it a really high rank like Baron, or Viscount?
sometimes it's just because of the Random factor, sometimes you get in, sometimes you dont.

In my last save game I couldn`t come at the second deck i was just floating in the air above sea, i started a new game and now i can go further.

About being able to loot fists from corpses: I deliberately added some code that should PREVENT that! I have tested a bit myself and indeed have, so far, not encountered corpses with their fists anymore. Why you are still encountering such corpses, I do not know. Do you sometimes encounter corpses without a saber after their blade broke? maybe the code only works sometimes?
BTW: About the bladedamage mod: I suppose, so far, no enemy has run away yet, although I did code that in, right? I think I now know why they don't run away. I'll try to get that fixed. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

About sailing into FdF during the quest: You should raise colours of a country friendly to France. However, you might get recognised. Before you try to enter port, you should have a look if there are any French enemy ships around the island or that they are all friendly. If thy are friendly, you can proceed. If they are hostile, try going to mapmode and sailing mode again.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> there mates,

Yeah, I had the fist situation a while back however I haven't encountered it again yet with the latest update.

Re the "Ouiseau" FdF quest, here's what I usually do tried. Change your flag to a nation friendly to France, but make sure you do this out at sea, before you approach the FdF coast. You can try the French flag, however it's seems that there may be a greater chance of being detected either arriving in port, in town or leaving port, particularly if you have a British LoM. I usually raise the Portuguese flag. When going to sea mode after nearing the coast of FdF select "Sail To" from your menu and if the French ships have a white "friendly" aura then you should be right to sail into port, if red "enemy" then head out to sea (map mode) and then try again. Later on in the game I'll often revisit FdF however, as I usually have a British LoM, I find it safer to land at Octopus Bay and go in the back way.

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Pieter,

I often encounter corpses without baldes if their blade has borken, no one has run away yet.

I now know why nobody runs away. I set the characters to "no group" and give them their fists. However, they will only run away if they don't have any weapon, so they shouldn't have their fists either. I will try to fix that next time. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Usually characters only run away if their AI type has some "runaway" function(like LAI_citizen) AND if they are unarmed AND if their LAI group is hostile to someone near. So setting them to "nogroup" may prevent them from running.

Another method for making NPCs run is setting them to actor and giving them some Lai_actorRunTo... command. (see example in dialogs\Enc_fort_dialog.c) Though that would sort of take the NPCs out of the game...

If you still remember, a long time ago you suggested a disarming mod, which we then extended. It never worked entirely well, but it did contain a running away feature. I tried using the same code this time, because it used to work. However, I forgot that I gave the NPCs their fists before doing that and they never run away if they still have a blade. So if I make sure they don't have their fists, that should enable running away. I am going to try that next in the next update.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Mates,

I've played a lot with all new update (included last maximum update), the game is reasonable stable and bugs free (But I didn't play the main quest too along).

It's just a boring bug that cause too much game crash when a fight occurs in a harbor locator <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I remember that fight in harbor locator was disable in old modpack (if not caused by player himself) Is there a way to disable fight in this locator?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> bye,bye,
giuliootto

There is no crew in the crew's quarter? That's weird. last time I checked, there was. I will check it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

You might be having additional crashes lately, because of the bladedamage mod. I know what would cause that crash and I have a fix ready that will replace invisible.gm with a better model. If you want that fix already, say so and I'll upload it. Otherwise it will be in the next update.

Fights in harbour locations have been added by Screwface recently. I can't quickly find in which file this was changed though. Tomorrow, when I have more time, I will find the required file and post it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I will when I have time. But I am having a hard enough time adding all those new ship skins and keeping up with schoolwork as well. I can assure you I will get it all done. When? I don't really know... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
