Solved Making Town Capture Boarding Locators

Here's Tortuga Port.

All I did with this one was remove the reloads, gotos and reposition the following which were underground:

rld, loc0
rld, aloc0
officers, reload1_1
officers, reload1_2
officers, reload1_3
officers, reload2_1
officers, reload2_2
officers, reload2_3

I guess that's all that was wrong with it?

Guadeloupe Port & Plantation.

All I did with Guadalouple Port was remove the extraneous stuff. I don't see what else is supposed to be wrong with it.

The positioning of the locators in the Plantation is seriously lacking in creativity, so someone take a look at it and let me know how to improve upon it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> .

I think I'll rewrite this so it will be a standard town capture after which player will have only option to capture town for him-/herself after which there will be a reload to town and talk with Danielle to go to prison to free reseacher. Later, if he/she decide to rejoin British that town would return to England.

Besides, there were one thing which annoyed me in a main quest - Danielle talked all the time that her ship was stolen but she had her crew (which attacked town from land side). As she was a guest on player's ship who already had crew on ship (full amount a given ship could support) I wonder how Danielle's crew reached the island? Maybe the were swimming after player's ship all the time? I think we should somehow rewrite this part of the main quest and make it more realistic (and preferably interesting). Do zou have some suggestions in this regard?

I'll vote for a rewrite of this part as well. Actually, there's another thing I don't like : Ralph Fawn that dies the minute you met him. He would have fit very well for this later part of the quest, when you take over Greenford and then the British fleet.
 
Guadeloupe port already was good? Beats me where those correct locators came from then. But no complaints if they're already magically there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Ralph even has a model named after him (Fawn.gm), but is virtually unused. And you can't even save him.

I already appreciate the fact that you're putting in the effort. As for testing, that'll take me a while.
Right now I'm occupied with writing my final thesis for school, for which the deadline is rapidly approaching. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

No being all that creative, as long as it works. Did you test the files yourself yet?
Are you sure some of them are supposed to be called "*_locatorsb.gm" instead of "*_lb.gm"?

Thanks for your good-luck wish; I've still got some work to do, but the report's turning out quite nicely.
 
Oh my goodness I was away for too long! I apologize Faradin I didn't know you were making things happen, I'll test out the new locations immediately. If you all need me to do something just PM I want to help...

Just download the attached files in stick them in their appropriate RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations town/port folder.

Yes, somewhat. I just loaded them up to make sure they were where I was expecting them to be.

From Guadeloupe.c:

They wouldn't load up in-game unless I just tacked the "b" on the end.

Well I had to start a new game that's for sure... other than that I still need to capture something...
 
You shouldn't need to start a new game for this; you're just replacing the GM files and not modifying any code.
