Included in Build Interface Screenshots for Ships

If for any pictures, you need the original un-cropped versions, just let me know; I've still got them.
I think they're pretty much fine as they are. The only potential problem would be if any of them are too big to fit within the borders, so we'll see how it goes.

I see you put a select few of the screenshots to use on ModDB; nice way to advertise the new models! :onya

For the EITC flag, start the Jack Sparrow storyline and execute this line through console:
Code:
PChar.Flags.Personal = 3; // PB: EITC Flag
Then raise your personal flag and it should be the EITC one.
Thanks, that's what I was hoping for. :doff

For the Queen Anne's Revenge, if you can, do try to put the real Blackbeard's flag in the mast; that's what I did. :wp
Can that also be done via the console, for the sake of laziness again? :cheeky

That's what I was thinking of; I might not have left enough space around the edges, so let me know if you need the originals. :doff

Yessiree, and on the Facebook profile too. I figured we hadn't posted those ships yet and they do deserve to be advertised, now, don't they!

In different time periods, Blackbeards flag might be different numbers. Assuming you'll be using the Jack Sparrow storyline for this too, it'll be:
Code:
PChar.Flags.Pirate = 2; // PB: Blackbeard's Flag
All flag changes you can now also do by talking with a crewmember on your ship's deck. :)

I know, and I really must try that sometime. I haven't tested all the new features of Patch 7 much yet.
Still, the lazy option is good enough for me in this case. :wp

LOL! I added the flag-through-dialog option because I figured people would be too lazy to use my lazy method from above.
Of course the lazy method does require you to know what number to use and for the dialog option it doesn't matter.
You should try it some time in any case; it takes only a few minutes and there's some funny dialog involved. :wp

So does that make me twice as lazy or half as lazy? How confusing!

Anyway, in normal gameplay circumstances, I'd certainly use the new method. For testing, I just prefer the console, I suppose.

Since most of us don't know about the flag numbering system talking to a crewman is the best way to change flags.

@Pieter, here's the interface screenshots and accompanying pictures.ini for all the Beta 2 ships: http://www.pyratesah...nshots_Beta2.7z
The images are in TGA format, because they're smaller that way, and you can choose how to convert them to TGA.TX (with/without compression).
Please can you check for any potential errors, or any ships I may have missed out.

After all that 'effort' ( :wp ) to get the right flags, you can hardly even see them on the Endeavour and QAR. Typical.
Anyway, I added the new images in roughly alphabetical order, and they seemed to fit several gaps pretty well.
I also replaced a couple of original images which I thought could do with a better perspective, contrast, and sail position.
Finally, I darkened each of the four main images by 50%, to hopefully compensate for the effects of ENB, and still look acceptable without it.
Please let me know if that works well, so I can make further adjustments if need be.

Oh, one other thing you'll need to sort out is the refShip.BigPicTexName line for all the new ships, plus those that may have been moved around on the pictures list.
I didn't think of that at the time, but there will be errors if it is ignored. :facepalm

Indeed; I'll make sure to double-check things before the final release. :doff

I've got all ships showing their screenshots now; next up is to sort out all ships' descriptions so that they all match. Then I'll double-check they match the models and we should be good. :woot

That's good news! Looks like we're almost done in the ships department. :)

That IS good news. We're getting somewhere, aren't we? Just a bit more to finish up and we really will be able to make a Beta 2 release! :dance

Each ship should have a description as well as a screenshot. See attached updated file with descriptions for all ships.
Please let me know if you spot anything that requires improvement.

I'm checking the descriptions through right now, and will upload the changes when I'm done. ;)

See attached for my updates on the descriptions.
I've made quite a few changes, mostly based on the historical ships, just to ensure most of them have something interesting mentioned.
Also, the cursed ships now have 'seaweed-covered' hulls. I'm afraid 'seaweed-y' just didn't cut it. xD:
Oh, and HMS Unicorn was launched in 1748, not 1848. :razz

More importantly though, I mentioned the Dutchman's special abilities, and the steam frigates' ability to use the engines independently.
And in some cases, "Captain... it's Captain Jack Sparrow!"

Thanks a lot; much more better! I am sorry to have had to truncate some of your description as they didn't all fit on my screen in the Ship Repaint interface.
Attached is what I had to make of it. Feel free to adjust it further if you want. :doff

Ah, yes. Not sure where that came from. Thought I just copy-pasted it from... wherever. :facepalm

Good idea, though the added text doesn't quite fit.
Of course nobody is REALLY going to look at the Ship Repaint interface to find out about ships' special features and that is, at the moment at least, the only place where the descriptions are used.
Would be nice if the ship descriptions could be made to show up in the Ship Purchase interface as well. Or maybe in a "more info" screen of some kind?

And in some cases, "Captain... it's Captain Jack Sparrow!"
Good point. We (read: I) can't afford to make THAT mistake! :shock

D'oh! I couldn't remember how much space there was in the interface.
Oh well, your adaptations still seem to get the point across, anyhow. :onya

That would be much more useful, yes. I suppose the descriptions were only really used before we had the Interface Screenshots mod, so now their purpose has changed somewhat.
Would it be easy to add such an option in the Ship Purchase interface?

Probably not so difficult if you know how to. Unfortunately, I don't and I don't know anybody else who does and has the time. So that doesn't really help. :facepalm
Indeed the descriptions are no longer really crucial, though they ARE used in the new Select Storyline interface, where they'll serve some good purpose too. Once we manage to get that up and running, that is. :modding

Armada, can you give us a hand in updating this again? The Empress needs adding and I think the Postillionen does too.
