Guide CoAS Walkthrough guide

Hi!

Yesterday I took Bluebird with merchant brig!
But I have another question... How long do you have to wait to hear from locals about the trading ship near port?

Sharpe's spy quest walkthrough missing? A try. In bad english.

If you're tired of hunting pearl tartanes, you can get a quest from one of the two chiefs of the pearl diver villages.

About the pearl diver villages:

One village is located near the Shores of Amatrice.
To find the other one you'll have to moor at the Shores of San Juan del Norte, go left, into the dungeon, it has two entries, one by feet, one by a rope, you go in by feet, you have to walk through the light, the skeletons are activated, but you don't have to fight them if you don't want, just run to the other entry with the rope. exit. find the second pearl diver village.

If your nation (the nation you serve) is hostile to Spain, your hero must have at least neutral relations to Spain (no bounty on your head) and a spanish trade licence (you can buy it from diplomats in pirate towns) to enter the village friendly. Neutral relations and good stealth is not enough (please verify).
If you can't enter the village friendly, there'll be a guard in the jungle near the village running away. shoot him, otherwise the village is deserted.

About the quest:

If you visit the chief of a village (first house on the right side), he'll make you an offer: If you kill Sharpe's spy, you'll be rewarded with a set of nice weapons. accept. you get a rat god in advance.

Now visit the other village. There will be one native. Talk to him. He will tell you about regular meetings in a cave at the shore. It's the Shores of San Juan del Norte.

Go to the shore, enter your ship and wait till evening. (Please help me with the exact times)

Save. Moor. If there's no text on the screen that something special is going to happen, load.

If you have the text, search the cave and kill the two guys.

Go back to the village chief and get a 35%-cuirass. :razz

ahoy mates!

I've been wondering If it's possible to complete all nation quests (including pirates) in a single playthrough and what order should I be playing it?
I generally want to get the unique ships such as the Soleil Royale from the French Nation Quest and yet be able to conquer settlements as a Pirate
(do I get a rank for pirates or do only Nation quests give ranks?). I also want to eventually capture the Flying Dutchman and any other unique items, ships, and
officers from the other quests and Nation Quests.

However, there are several times that I'll have to lose battles and lose my ships and crew in order to continue some quests (such as the Ship of Souls quest)
while some quests will trap me there until I finish it (Lost Ship City quest).

So how should I proceed with this without losing the unique things that I've gained?

I want to be able to play the game as efficiently as possible.
getting a full crew with low authority by using the saving other crew members in port authority (do they have limited ship saves? can I save my other ships
on other ports?). Can I create a decent army this way? What is the ship maximum for a fleet anyway?

How do I know which officers are evil and which ones are good? Do unique officers leave you when they get low loyalty?
How do I increase the loyalty of good officers without decreasing the loyalty of evil officers and vice versa?

I want to conquer all ports as a pirate and get all unique items, ships, officers in a single playthrough if it's possible.
pilage and hoard stuff just like any decent pirate should.

I don't think you can do more than one nation quest in a single playthrough ( in some nation quests you are attacking a town that you are defending in others). though you can do the Pirates ( Nation Quest ) plus one of the others in the same playthrough

If you have a ship or an officer or items that you do not want to loose in a quest. Then give the items to the officer - make them the captain of the ship and leave that ship with a port controller.

You can leave 3 ships with each port controller. - you can take a ship from and put it back with a port controller as many times as you like.

I think the maximum size of fleet you can have sailing with you is 5 ships

Officer loyalty depends on your character - if you are good - evil officers will have low loyalty & good officers High loyalty - and vice versa

If you're tired of hunting pearl tartanes, you can get a quest from one of the two chiefs of the pearl diver villages.

About the pearl diver villages:

One village is located near the Shores of Amatrice.------>>>start the quest here as it's easier to acces and to find the info you need for the quest after you accept it (you need to talk with an old indian by the name of Venetu...not sure if the name sticks or it changes with evry play)

Neutral relations and good stealth is not enough (please verify).---->>>i already finished the french quest line when i started this so it was a french town but if i remember corectly i visited this before and you only need to not have a bounty on your head(i'm preaty sure i didn't had the spanish flag on my ship when i visited first...)

It's the Shores of San Juan del Norte.---->>>this is north-west of portobelo not far on the cost line...it has nothing to do with San Juan, the spanish town on Puerto Rico

Go to the shore, enter your ship and wait till evening. (Please help me with the exact times)---->>>i guess it must be before midnight...i got on the shore at around 23:45 or something and i got the new entry in the quest log on my first try :D (it sais something about "my intuition tells me something important is going to happen" or someting :wp )

Save. Moor. If there's no text on the screen that something special is going to happen, load.

If you have the text, search the cave and kill the two guys.

Go back to the village chief and get a 35%-cuirass. :razz

Ok, i put a few things in red in hope of clarifications on some things...now for a short long story:

You can get this quest started even after you first try on Sharp's quest (when you "aren't able" to catch those tartanes).

To start it you must go to one of the pearl divers settlements...i chosed the one at the Amatrice Shores cuz, as i stated before it's easier to get your info on the quest here. To get to this settlement...just get to shore and enter the cave...after you exit on the other side of the cave...it's only one way ahead (well that until you meet the guard...then you have to stay on the path that's going left)

After you enter the settlement, enter the first house on the right as sanschi said and talk with the officer there...something about evryone knows sharp around here or something.

He will give you the quest and if you accept you get a very good Rat God totem that's more then usefull :yes and a promise to get a gold cuirass and some unoticeble weapons and such.

Now...get out of the house and look for a red skin man...it's our indian...talk with him and he will tell you about a certain Emilio Garcia that's been meeting someone evry night in a cave on the San Juan del Norte Bay.

Go to your ship and travel there...get on shore...lisen/talk with the 2 men there...one is emilio and the other one of sharp's people...kill them and go back to your ship

Time to go back and get your armor. :sail

hope that our combined...crews will help you guys out :D

btw...thx a bunch Sanschi for posting that

I've met a woman.
Well, that's nothng unusual so far, but this particular woman asked me to climb down a well and by doing so to rescue her ...sister, i think.
Now down in the dungeon, the girl wasnt too hard to find, but she refuses to go with me and mentioned 2'000'000 goldpieces.

Is that just a silly girl, or is there something behind it (i don'w have a quest entry)? Because my tresure happens to be in there and when i get it, the skelettons will kill her... does anyone know that unmarked quest? Help plz...

In addition to the Tenochtitlan Quest

There are not only 10 totems to be found. You will need the ten totems, Montezuma is talking about. So read what he is talking and write down their names. (not written down to the log)
There exist 12 totems. Two additional ones, which will open two stone chests inside of the temple of life. When you turn your back to the location of the jade skull. You will see two places to the left and right, where the exists are located. There you can place these two totems. Each of them opens a chest. The right one opens the chest, when you follow the right path and the left one opens the chest one level above.

There are also cursed coins (the ones from the movie) to be found:

Inside of the aztec town, there are two smaller buildings between the pyramids. In each of these buildings you will find a staircase down to water. Both lead to an underwater labyrinth, where you have to hurry to get through the labyrinth not to drown. Then you will enter the temple of life inside of these cage things you can see, when you are entering this temple when doing the Tenochtitlan Quest. (when looking at the jade skull, take a look to the right and left, there are these chests behind these stone bars) Using the left labyrinth will lead you to the chest with these coins. The right one is empty.

The purpose of these coins is unknown to me. But it seems that they were intended to start something according to a post I found on these forums.

In addition to the Tenochtitlan Quest

There are not only 10 totems to be found. ...
...
There exist 12 totems. ...
...
The totems are 15, not 12:
Totem 1: Xochiquetzal. Bermuda, broke Basin, on the sand beyond the wreck of the ship
totem 2. Mictlantecuhtli. San Juan del Norte, beach, back towards the sea, the cave to the right
totem 3 : Quetzalcoatl. Marigot, the cave (at the base of a large stalagmite: seems the "hand")
totem 4 : Mixcoatl. Port of Spain behind the church, in the grass, the inner edge of the fence.
Totem 5: Tezcatlipoca. Fort de France, cellar (1 ^ on the right staircase, downstairs, next to the platform of the elevator)
Totem 6: Chalchiuhtlicue. Tortuga, the house across the Comptroller of the Port, porch.
Totem 7: Huitzilopachtli. Willemstad, the Governor's residence hall, column / handrails
Totem 8: Tlaloc. In the lighthouse of Santo Domingo
Totem 9: Mayahuel. Santiago, in the prison of the Inquisition (under the door steps of the church), the monks' dormitory
totem 10 Tonacatecuhtl. Temple of the Incas, from Amatrice bay, watching the sea to the right, last bush.
totem 11 Tonathiu. Portobello, go to the jungle, go 2 times left you come to a clearing, look to the ground
totem 12 Tlatzcotl. First switch of Lake Texcoco, in the grass, in a corner on the right.
totem 13 Centeotl. Tenochtitlan, the colonnade of the temple of Sx, in the tank, underwater maze, out, cash. It serves to open the first box of the temple, containing the sacrificial knife.
totem 14 : Camaxtli. Just enter in the switch of Tenochtitlan (when he arrives to speak to Montezuma, in other words), go immediately to the left, you reach the stones ranging from the ridge to the sea, into the water being attached to the rocks when the water is chest height appears the hand.
totem 15 Xipe Totec. Inside the top of the Inca temple, after destroying the Spanish expedition (Ascold quest). It serves to open the 2^ cash (2 nd floor) of the temple of Tenochtitlan.

...The purpose of these coins is unknown to me...
The coins are in the game Mod, not in the game original ("Vanilla"); are the coins of the first film: Pirates of Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
I do not think they have a function

Thanks! Just found this thread:

http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php/topic/16366-tenochtitlan-full-walkthrough

I think the quest link in the initial post should link to this thread instead. This would be much more useful for other people as well. It is really hard to find good walkthroughs etc. about this game on Google. The thread above, Google was not even mentioning, when searching for help about this quest.

Ahhh!!! Very interesting! :onya
I did not know.
I found these coins also into the chests under the sea in CoAS quest, and in others chests.

Would be totally awesome, if the Curse of the Blackpearl quest would be implemented.

Question about English Quest-Line - 3. Intelligence in Curacao

Modyford keeps saying I should visit him from time to time, because he has no job for me now. That is why I started the Tenochtitlan Quest to waste some time and because of that, I missed the opportunity to attack Belize, when talking to Henry Morgan after finishing the 2nd english quest. This however seems to be an optional thing anyways, so why I am not getting the 3rd english quest?

I do not know. Need to know your situation of time, or others details.
Anyway, in the quest-lines there are limits of minimum and maximum time between the quests.
Maybe you've exceeded the maximum time, or is it too early, or you forgot to do something... :shrug
The second mission is closed, in the register?

> quest-lines there are limits of minimum and maximum time between the quests

Which has not been mentioned anywhere in the english quest-line walkthrough. Because of the optional Morgan Quest, I guess one does not need to get the 3rd english quest immediately. Modyford also told me to step in from time to time right after finishing the 2nd quest. The Tenochtitlan Quest took me some ingame weeks/months because of travelling a lot.

> or forgot to do something

Nothing to do according to the walkthrough or log entries.

> The second mission is closed, in the register?

Yeps.

Currently I am trying to do some governor/church and other missions from england/port royal. Maybe this may help. :shrug

Do I maybe have to finish the Isabella mission? I do not like the outcome of this mission and therefore I am ignoring it as long as possible.

Not being able to continue the english missions means, not being able to finish the pirate quest line and in total not being able to capture colonies. :modding

Edit: Just finished the governor mission and whooops, I can continue the english quest-line. :facepalm

Thanks anyway.

Questions about the Austin Quest:

  1. Aren't there any log entries about it? Haven't got any.
  2. I was talking to the first killer at the very beginning without knowing about this quest. I am lvl 42 now and still get the killers talking to me. So why is this quest described in a way, that you have to be low level?
  3. After talking to the 3rd killer in Santa Catalina, I went to Cartagena and met the 4th one. But I am not able to find him in the very small cave in the jungle. Where is he?
  4. Oh and what do I get when finishing this quest? If it is nothing special, I may just ignore it. :)

Also, if you find a killer in a dungeon and save the game, reload the game, the guy is gone and the quest is broken. He won't appear anymore.

Thanks in advance.

I finished this quest but i deleted the save game so my memory can fail.
  1. I think there was a log entry after the 3rd encounter (not sure), when a man talks about Austin and the other killers (this man disappeared, there wasn't ambush this time), and some updates after next encounters.
  2. Like you, anyone surely will find this quest at very low level, and without cheating some ambushes are near impossible to survive. Perhaps if you find some of these killers and choose to avoid the ambush, then they won't reproduce again so you could potentially break the quest. That's my guess. Anyway it's a good practice to save before walking the streets if you want to activate or not a specific quest.
  3. If that's the cave with a lot of tunnels i think he was in a great room with some wood platform in it. The other caves were easier
  4. I think it was a unique sword

1. The log entry are only after the 6° killer
2. The low level it is advisable because the prize is low; not too low, however, because some duels occur also against an accomplice who attacked from behind, and are dangerous.
3. Some caves are very complicated (Cartagena and/or Panama); need to be patient, always follow a direction (only the right or only the left) and sooner or later find the killer.
4. The loot is gold (approximately 100.000), a Beretta and a Haudegen (= Katana in the Mods); Haudegen is very very good for the player in beginning. Not for player lev 42.
