Assassin Main Quest

Today's my last day at work and tomorrow my holiday starts, so then I'll get to work on finishing up some stuff and releasing a patch. Should be soon.

It's about the Santos' House entry. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> You can add it if you want, check the quest location file to know the locator I use.

Anyway, tonight, I'll be on the forum and I can upload it if necessary.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
We sent the messages at the same time, can you confirm you read this one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Indeed I hadn't seen that one yet; thanks for letting me know.
For the missing code, can you please post that still?
I won't play the quest until at least tomorrow anyway, so hopefully you'll have time to upload it.

Is that fireball effect used anywhere? I can't seem to find any reference to it at the moment. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

But that's not in there yet? Too bad... oh well, I'll wait for that one then. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Thanks for the file! Looking forward to trying the quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Here's the first screenshot of the 4th quest I started today.

To Pieter or SuperDurnius :

Could you confirm the Pirat15_A1 has been added in a previous patch ? (maybe Build 14 Alpha 9 Patch 4 ?). If yes, I will add the Pirat15_A2 (see screenshot) and use it in the 4th quest and maybe also 5th quest.

I have pirat15 and pirat15_A1 included, but not pirat15_A2. I don't even HAVE that model. Where'd it come from? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
What other models of SuperDurnius do I not have? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
<b>Edit:</b> Ok, so I DID have that one. It's in the Development Resources. I don't think he's got an initModels.c entry or portrait file yet though.

Oh... and the sunken ship is cool. Did you do that through locators or did you have to change the ship's waterline?

I also have pirat15_A3, if you want in a next update i could make the initModels entry. For the portraits, SuperDurnius or I can make them.

EDIT :
I used the same method than the deadgeneral for the ship

While you're at it, also add one for _A1; I do have the model for that, but no initModels.c entry either.

<!--quoteo(post=332803:date=Jun 25 2009, 10:22 PM:name=bartolomeu o portugues)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (bartolomeu o portugues @ Jun 25 2009, 10:22 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=332803"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I used the same method than the deadgeneral for the ship<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Ah! I see. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

I also have the _A1 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> and don't worry about the initmodel entry, I'll do it.

Thanks again. I've been playing the Assassin quest and I've come up to the point where you have to sail to Grenada to stop the French.
The part in Martinique was really cool, especially with the captain dropping from the sky, then lying dead on the floor with people surrounding him! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

It's not particularly hard yet though; hardest part so far was killing the guy in the Port au Prince fort.
I used some grenades I got in the Speightstown sewer there and even then I had to do a fair amount of reloading and running-instead-of-fighting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Encountered a couple of sea-related crashes, but I think those are because of the Different Flags mod and not your quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

When you play the scene at the French ship deck where you have to place the timebombs, are the French soldiers actually hostile to you?
In my case, they were all friendly which made the whole thing a walk in the park. Really easy. I don't think that was your intention, was it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Weird effect because of this quest: In all OTHER storylines, the door to the Port Royale house of Mateus Santos is also there.
You can't go in though, despite the lock icon showing "open". Not gamekilling by any means, but weird still.

When you get to killing Pepin Bertillon in Turks port, the game crashes on me when closing the loot interface.
I was thinking maybe that would be because his ship was in port and after he dies and you close the lot interface,
the game would try to set flags on the ship of a dead character, causing trouble. But I can't even find any code reference to Pepin HAVING a ship.
The player does make reference to it in a dialog, but from looking at the code, he doesn't have a ship, so that shouldn't be the reason. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Interestingly enough, the game didn't crash after opening the F2 interface and changing flags.
Went to 3D sailing mode, back to port, Bertillon's quards were there again, even though I killed them before.
Ended in a free-for-all-fight with me killing everybody in port. Game did crash this time after opening/closing the F2 interface. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

I do not know to what extent this weirdness is caused by your quest or by the Different Flags mod, which seems a major cause for crashes in my game.
But maybe you can confirm if you've got any of this craziness?

Got some more weirdness: the game wouldn't register that I had killed Pepin and he kept showing up again after a location reload.
It seems to me that the whole thing works ONLY if you don't leave the port location before killing him.
Maybe disable the reloads to prevent the weirdness I encountered from happening?

I didn't have this bug <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I know but the same should happen with the house in Greenford and Conceicao. At least, I think <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

What happens with Bertillon ?? I didn't have these problems. Maybe you are using an another version of the game. My game version is Alpha 9.5 patch 1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I've been playing with Build 14 Alpha 9.5 Patch 1 + additional fixes + Screwface's Different Flags mod update.
It's not exactly Build 14 Alpha 9.5 Patch 1, but that's still no reason for the boarding relation problem.

The infiltration in the French Ship, right ? I can't really explain that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Today, I will check the code in this part of the quest but I think I didn't make any mistake <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I played many times this part and the French soldiers were always hostile. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
