Mod Release AOP Super MOD

Too, wolf, i found the text in the shipyard it is in common ini, i have only added 1 line to the describe of the brig, so you haven`t noticed it, and i think the ship interface picture has the same name as the ship model, so it will be attaced to it. And i haven`t fixed any moral flags, lol, or i did it without me knowing it. I think Cyberobs did that.
 
i fixed the morale flags in update 2, but thomas we definatly need a picture for shipyard and for the f2 screen of your ship.
 
Ships changing thir colors on the sea level is still not fixed. Recently entered a battle with 3 english vs 3 pirate ships. And when went on the sea level there were 5 english ships and 1 pirate. But this pirate was treated as friendly by the AI. No one fired on it, neither it was firing on anyone. Even its sails were striken down. But no "Go to the overhead map" button appeared. So I closed to a boarding distance and fired manualy to sink it. After it the botton appeared.

Cyberops originally posted that Supermod did not play well with others.
In short it works when you don't use patch 1.42.
 
Not sure if this is the best place for it but here is a bug I encountered while using the super mod with update 2 installed. I don't think the mod had anything to do with it but I wanted to put it out there. Granted, I don't think this will be easy to duplicate.

I was working for the French out of Guadalupe and was sent to fetch some cargo in Petit-Goave. After getting my cargo I stopped by Tortuga to see what goods they imported/exported and decided to stop by the governor. This governor was happy to complete my mission and I thought "hey, I don't have to schlep all the way back to Guadalupe to finish the mission, great!" Well I soon discovered that it had teleported me to Guadalupe but left my ships in Tortuga.

Fortunately a recent sea battle saved me having to repeat too much play.

See the to many problems thread, there are so many bugs in this came it's not even funny, it's easier to make an entirely new game then even fix this darn game grrr.
 
This is just a copy and paste from the Too many problems thread, but figured it could use being said here as well.

Well, I think I've found a pretty nice decompiler. Now if I could only understand what the hell I'm looking at. **smiles** I'd really appreciate any input, suggestions or maybe even allowing me access to the tools or decompiled code you are working with, Cyberops.

Anyhow, anyone that wants to jump in and help out, please do. I can easily figure out the .ini files and fumble my way through a lot of the other stuff. But we REALLY need a good decompile of the .exe and something to do the same to the .dll files as well.

Okay Iforgot to mention that yes I found the basic 128 portrait spot in \RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\SHIPS but that isn't the portraits for the ship listing on the sides where your squad is. Those are the ones I can't find. Or maybe the ship portraits has to be a certain format? All I know my copy of the manowar tga didn't work. I'll try again with my new WolfofWar ship.

So to review, to enter a new ship we know:

Ships_init.c under \Program\ships - Enter new ships specs here after the Manowar (Do we know if it can be placed anywhere so long as it matches ship.h? Or are there more places that ref the ships in order?).

Ships.h under \Program\ships - Enter new ship ref here after manowar (Again, what if there are not class 1?)

Shipname1_walk.c under \Program\sea_ai\walk - I think this is the ship walk file for 1st person view. I think a copy of whatever ship the new one is based off will work of does it need to edited beyond renaming? EDIT: Looks like this file will need to be really edited as has to have every ref to its original model changed, and there are three of them for the manowar. I just used the replace funtion on the new copy and it seems to work fine.

Shipname1.ini under \RESOURCE\Models\Ships\Sailorspoints - File to place lowpoly sailors. I just copied the manowar and it works fine.

bortoutShipname1.tga.tx under \RESOURCE\Textures\Ships\Shipname1 - textures for each level of hull armor. Will have to hex edit new models to change referenced textures.

Model files under \RESOURCE\Models\Ships\Shipname1 - Place to put new models or renamed copies of model new ship is based off of.

Shipname.tga.tx under \RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\SHIPS - 128 portrait for F2 screen. Unknown how other portraits are found.

Common.ini under \RESOURCE\INI\texts\english - Somewhere in the middle is the ship descriptions. Just add new ship same as the others.

utils.c under \Program\scripts - This was used to enter new brig to shipyard, but saw no specific mention of other ships. Are we sure this is the place to enter it, and if so just repeat your template?

Is that everything needed for a new ship? The only seemingly missing are the smaller portraits.

But I still wonder how to:

Reduce penaltys on larger ships.
Is possible to make class of ship invincible so your squad could be invincible as well.
Is it possible to completly reduce sail damage without editing the ship upgrades.
Is ship fame tracked separately from you?

I also dream of further mods, but these are just lofty ideas:

Trade supplies at sea when capturing a ship.
See specs of ship before deciding to enslave or leave a crew.
Ability to visit your own cabin to rest.
Visit other ships in your squad to speak to their captains in their cabins.
Assign passengers and prisoners to different ships, or more precisly place VIPs in cabins of your choosing to protect them. (See Governers Daughter idea)
Keep slaves or captives as servants in your cabin.
Meeting room to talk to your Senior Officers.
Different cabins for different ships.
Squad formations & Tactics. I.e. Normally be lead by Sloop in line for sailing, switch to warship lead in wedge for sea combat, Manowar in point lead for fort assault. Sloop takes defensive postion when attacked to protect VIPs. Unarmed Trade ships in your squad pick up supplies dropped during sinking etc.

I also want to add new cannons but that requires a separate set of modifications.

What do think?

Also on bugs: The lady the jungle of Guadelope bay has an error in her dialog so it doesn't start. I am playing as beatrice if it matters.

I had a similar problem, but I think it was because I continued an old save after updating.

I was ordered to pick up a load of tobacco in Bridgetown and drop it off in St. Martin. So I went to Barbados and picked up the goods, but when I got to St. Martin, the governor asked me "Have you delivered the tobacco to Bridgetown yet?". I stopped for a moment and thought how I could've possibly screwed it up, then I checked the logbook and saw that the destination was, indeed, St. Martin. I'd had some other bugs along with it, so I just started a new game and it seems to be working perfectly.

I'll do some steps to get rid of Starforce. First I have to find out where You guys were talking about that. The only thing that I'm still concern about is my Radeon 9200 witch couldn't play the game as v1.41 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

By the way. I was always trying new game after I applyed the MOD. I'll be in touch with you guys.

This is a bug I reported couple of days ago to Cyberops - the icon for fast travel in Tortuga which appears during the night isn't for the governor, but for the house you can buy in Guadeluppe. So you actually was teleported in your house in Guadaluppe, even if you didn'tbuy the house yet.
 
Will be workong on some of the bugs, however i wont be on much the rest of the month, doing contructions and remodeling work at home, we have a 2 week vacation period and i have some work to do on pirate simulator to the coming time, so i will do as much as i can and check as often as possible but please bare with me a bit.

Right now i am working on the wind fix between 3D and worldmap, i am close but seems a lil bit hard, the only thing i know is that the function that changes the wind is a non-linear sin() function that seems a lil complex but workable <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

According to the russian players the best version for now (stable-wise) is version 1.3 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Ahoy Pirates!
As you know, I have Brand new DVD, I couldn't play v1.41 because my Radeon9200 couldn't solve it but after patch v1.42 I was able to play. Later on I was trying to use Super MOD and without luck. Here is what I did:
1) uninstalled the game
2) Uninstalled the MOD
3) uninstalled the Starforce shit(found out on google)
4) restarted comp
5) installed AOP again( without S****- I checked!)
6) installed crack from Game Burn World (didn't work )
7) installed MOD and all updates
Each time after steps 5,6,7 I was trying to run the game. No chance! I've got the same error "engine.exe has encountered a problem..."
Any advise? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
What kind of video cards do you guys use? Any good advise? Because I think here is the problem.

I've downloaded this incredible mod, but in the readme(overwritten by update 1 & 2) i haven't found what exact this mod changes in the game....
what are the different between the normal game and the game with the mod? only the music and the t key for fast sea travel?
It is posible to have all the modification in detail (all), this mod apply to the game?

Let's see, there's: music, jungles, beaches, raper encounters, bandits, open houses, buyable house in Guadalupe, brothels, "the little boat with 3 men", the bank (Usurer), a lot of new voices and sound effects, a new ship and tons of bug fixes. I don't think this is a complete list, even.
