Solved Adding More Music

I'm not a big fan of replacing the current music; it is fine enough. But adding more tracks to choose from for variety is all fair game to me!
For the storm music, I added the one from Sea Dogs so far and will add Cutthroat Island too.
Downloading the PotC music pack now to see if I can include that as well. :doff

if its still in progress: I found some music from Port Royale. idk if we may use them? There are a few tracks which are quite good for sailing/world map and a few battle-themes too :yes
EDIT: And even some nice town musics for all countries except Portugal! :)

Agh, they DO always exclude Portugal, don't they? :shock
The Portuguese town music we've got now is actually the quieter Spanish tracks from No Man's Land.

It seems so, nobody likes Portugal :D I looked through all the music, and I found some nice tracks for the World Map (some of them also for Open Sea). Then there are 3 tracks for Sea-Battles which are quite good. And I have found some nice music for france, the netherlands and spain (the english town music is kinda weird). I wanted to post the .zip file but I cannot upload it (I think its to big with 28MB)

And I can look again if I find some tracks from spain we could use for portugal ;)

Thanks for including me Pieter! :) I uploaded it into the TEMP-directory.
Unfortunaly, they are all .mp3 files, but I can convert them :yes I wanted to check you first if we want to include the tracks. Because they all have kind of another style than our music (but nevertheless, I believe it would fit quite good :) )

Aww I personally think the current Portagee town music is the best of all the town music. The Dutch and French is good also, the Spanish soso, and the English terrible. But that is just one opinion.

Cheers! Downloading now.
We've got music from different sources anyway. No Man's Land doesn't sound much like Cutthroat Island. :wp

I'm glad I managed to put that music to good use then. The Portuguese do deserve SOMETHING special now and then. :cheeky

...and the English terrible. But that is just one opinion.
That bad, eh? BOTH tracks? One's from Sea Dogs, the other from No Man's Land.

imo the english town music is quite good^^ I think I have some other old games lying around here, maybe I find some more tracks we could put to good use. I think, the more the better, you can't do anything wrong with a large diversity of music ;)

Apart from blowing up the filesize. Don't want to go too far. We've got two tracks for each nation, which at least ensures *some* variety.
And I think I included about all tracks I NEED to have from Cutthroat Island. Perhaps some of Jack Black's songs would be fun for ship decks and taverns.

Ahh yes I totally forgot about that^^ Nevertheless I will continue searching, maybe I find some amzing tracks we really need in the game :D

can you tell me which formats the game supports? I want to add them for myself :) (If you wish, I could make a "modpack" with the updated code and the additional music)

if I understand the code right, I simple have to add the file-paths in the file music_standard.c , am I right?

ok I'm done! Bad thing is, that now the USA and the pirates have only 2 music themes for their towns while the others have 5+ music themes^^
I copied all musicfiles and the updated music_standard.c file in a .zip-archive, so if you want me to upload it on the ftp, let me know ;) (35,8MB)

EDIT: uuhhm.. seems like the new music requires a new game in order to show up.. can the music be re-intialized with f11?

A new game? Really??? I thought that just required closing and re-opening the game. :shock

Well I didnt left it open, so I made the changes, loaded my savegame and only the standard-music was played. Started a new game and the first track was already a new one :shrug
