Does it help in combat like people run away or surrender? Also does a good reputation help practically or just make it harder to fly a false flagPirates like you but everyone else hates you. Overall it makes the game harder, especially if you are trying to complete quests that require you to deal with certain people in certain ports.
Aye, its yer Fame Level. There is another reputation that helps in combat.
In addition, some of the side quests are not available if you have a bad reputation. You won't be able to do "Saving Toff's Daughter" for a start, because Toff won't talk to you. And you can forget about "Strange Happenings in the Archipelago" because to progress that beyond a certain point you need to talk to the priest in Port Royale and get a job from him, which you won't get without a good reputation.
The PERIOD_ACCURACY_LEVEL line is at the top of that file, but wasn't added until Beta 2.5 I think.Instead of starting a new thread i have another question. I had read that there is a way in ship_init.c to enable random ships instead of just ones from whatever time period. But I cant' seem to find it. I'm still running build 14 beta 1 patch 7 from 2011. Is that why I can't find the setting?
#define PERK_MULTIPLIER 1 // FLOAT - Default = 1, Perks are set to cost base value*multiplier. Set to 0 to have everything be cost 1
Whack someone over the head with a sandbag, then try to rob them. -1 for a successful mugging, -3 and a chance to try again if they catch you doing it. Sometimes it backfires and the sandbag doesn't stun the target, who then fights back and so does everyone else in the area.Insted of starting new thread I ask there. I am playing pirate, but my reputation always raising to the top. Sometimes you pick up boat with saviours, sometimes you do good dees here and there, but they aren't actually good deeds, because you profit from doing it, i.e. picking boat in seas replenish your crew. So, how to actually one captain can lower reputation?
