Looks promising <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Now the townwalls some more stuff on the streets and perhaps some plants <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> But this looks awesome.
 
These are just meshes, models of terrain. Making details is possible, though. Map size can be 410x410 km and I made europe this night, but it takes a huge amount of time and this is just in the testing. So I just did Netherlands fail-safe so yohoho has something to start with, its not pretty but functional. 40x40 km.

Europe incl. algier coastline and baltic, 410x410 km, takes about 7 minutes to fly from one corner to the other -
but not able to handle it in Maya:

wow, thats huge. i hope piratekk can code it that we have 2 maps.

the original AoP island.gm has a size of 14,7mb PotC only 4,2 mb.
 
Agreed on townwalls. Also if it IS going to be Amsterdam, there needs to be at least on canal ("gracht").

I´ve tried to add the town to Peters Netherlandmap.

i must scale up the map to *1000 and the result * 1000.
 
Oh, great!:D Cities along the coast only need to be a couple of houses to show there is a city, like the original PotC cities and VOC, dont you think?

Its such a great thing you started.

You can find some famous Amsterdam buildings there, along with photo's and some old drawings/paintings.
