really? that's nice, i'm at turks island now. i'll check it out. (thousand curses, just got a manowar MM with a pirate corvette, really happy me, when the game CTD'd at cuba! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> ) speaking of turks island: is the guy in the lighthouse with 2000 hp important for a quest? does he talk to you when you are a pirate?

yes, but he attacks you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> he says: 'you're not a pirate, and you'll regret your intrusion', which means that he does talk to you when you're a pirate.
 
He is a sort of officer, like clair de la rouselle, if you are an enemy of a certain nation, you can ask him to go pillaging with you, and you have to pillage with him, until you have reached the amount he told you. well, seek the rest out for your self <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

bit of a mercenary who wants the spoils instead of a salary, eh? i could feel something for that if i can finally join them, which i still couldn't do. well, i could once, but then i owned a piece of land about the size of belgium, so i didn't want to. what's the minimum rep. you need to join them?

Couple of replies I wrote a couple of days ago:

Shame about these bugs, but I think most were in previous Alpha's as well. All except for the looting captain bug. I think Pirate_KK will need to fix those cabin and box issues.

Does anyone have any comments on the newly added items and AoP towns (Guadeloupe and Tortuga)? Also: Add GiveItem2Character(pchar,"compass3"); to console.c, press F12 and pay a visit to Isla de Muerte!

The game does become much harder, that's for sure. It was just a simple idea anyway to try to remove the "free infinite bocking" gameplay issue. I really don't like that you can keep blocking and blocking with no penalty whatsoever. Though I would prefer to set a blocking time limit instead of a HP hit. But that was just too much work for the moment. So I added CCC's HP hit and added a toggle for those who don't like it.

pieter, your blocks can get pierced, and they pretty often do get pierced, so blocking isn't entirely safe.

a rather big bug in build 14a5 and i presume in 14a6 as well:

mean harry, in the nigel blythe quest, isn't on his ship. the neptune basically has no captain. also, for some reason, he's called dirty garry at some point. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> because he isn't there, you can't board him as you get stuck when you are supposed to talk to the captain. when he surrenders, you can't move, because there is no-one to move to, and because his crew morale starts at normal, he almost always surrenders before you can sink him. it's extremely hard to defeat him this way.

I have been to Guadeloupe it is beautiful and wors well. I haveln't tried the compass yes.

Well, I never play that well and for me playing level 35 I have a enough problems just staying alive
with the new skill system with without the added penalty. On the reality side, a lot blocks get pierced and the balde deteriorates. I think that is enough so I just toggle it off. And, the fists are still deadly <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" /> .

so you can talk to the people in the entire city on guadeloupe now? i noticed that you couldn't in various locatons.

check out the relations in the top left of the screenshot:

it's definatly a bug. the nations without the status are the nations that i have a letter of marque with. if you're not promoted, it says letter of marque, just as it should. what you see here is what happens with all the other ranks.

It should be possible to set Mean Harry to never surrender. Make sure Pirate_KK and/or Maximus is aware of this bug. The same goes for any other bugs you might encounter.

I was in the the midle of the side quest ' something stange ' etc...., missing children. I got to Isla muelle (spelling?) delivered my letter to the father, and when I left the church, DUDES in red robes did not fight me and I could not get back to the church (area was locked). At this point I could not finnish that quest, has anyone else had this problem? Aside from some bording problems and the chest problems, I've found build 14.6 very good. This has been the third fresh install with the same problem and the same build. Have I missed something? Any help ----------------- well you know.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I've tried to get Modders to fix it, but no takers!
You can ignore it alltogether, as it has no bearing on the Mainquest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
 
i don't get this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> i never had any problems at all with that quest. ever! only the common bug that the animists don't attack you.
 
Catalina once fixed that quest, but apparently bugs crept in again. The problem is that we need people to fix them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

well, my first goal is to fix the bug where your titles don't show up with the rep. indication in the top left. i need to mod the same file where your rep. like 'hero' gets indicated, right? if that's so, then i'll need that file from someone who has build 13.
 
I have a bug. Not bad, but annoying as hell.

When I go into the cargo hold, there are always two men standing in the same spot, so sometimes it looks like just one. When I approach them, it says thier names are "the late late" and when I try and talk to them, I get a message saying they're dead (mind you they're standing). They can be killed, but they always come back. I can not however, kill them with my gun; I just get a clicking sound. Smoke comes out the end but no bullet. The problem is, when I capture a captain from another ship, he sits right where my ghosts are standing. Because of this, I can't talk to him. I try and kill the ghosts firs,but the captain always dies first. This is killing me since I make a lot of money from ransoms. Try and figure this one out.


Note: I'll try to post a screenshot of my "ghosts".
