Build 14/6

i had something like that. it was caused when i wanted to kill one prisoner out of two with my sword, (the other prisoner attacks the prisoner you are attacking for some reason <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" /> ) killing him, and then killing the prisoner that attacked the other prisoner. when i went back into my cargo hold later on, the guy was there again. i could just keep on killing him, but he would appear again later on. i was able to talk to him though to deal with him the usual way. i think you have two of them. but as you can't talk to them the normal way, it has to be something else.

Hello all,

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

I was in the the midle of the side quest ' something stange ' etc...., missing children. I got to Isla muelle (spelling?) delivered my letter to the father, and when I left the church, DUDES in red robes did not fight me and I could not get back to the church (area was locked). At this point I could not finnish that quest, has anyone else had this problem? Aside from some bording problems and the chest problems, I've found build 14.6 very good. This has been the third fresh install with the same problem and the same build. Have I missed something? Any help ----------------- well you know.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Thanks alot <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I have the same problem <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> (animists quest). The problem is the animist should talk to you but he's considered dead because it's the same character used on the isla Muelle shore before (and you need to kill him to continue the quest). But i think the problem is not the quest itself, because i've had the same problem with the governor of conceição : impossible to talk to him because dead (maybe i "kill" him with a boobytraped chest) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> Like the animist, i have the sentence "to speak with dead bodies of enemies?! your name is hamlet, maybe?"

i've had something like that with the two pirates on QC shore. but i didn't get the message. their swords where gone too.

well, my first goal is to fix the bug where your titles don't show up with the rep. indication in the top left. i need to mod the same file where your rep. like 'hero' gets indicated, right? if that's so, then i'll need that file from someone who has build 13.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I actually fixed that bug today. It indeed had to do with the translation mod, just as I thought. The fixed file is nations.c in <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/pietersmods/others/pb_modifications.zip" target="_blank">this</a> pack of my latest modding work. This pack also contains some more bugfixes to display texts and it includes some changes to Bartolomeu's Tortuga Ambience mod. This file should be compatible with Alpha 6, but I also sent it to Pirate_KK for inclusion in the next Alpha.

so it's not compatible yet. well, wasn't that file in build 14 alpha slightly different? i think that some important lines are left out when you replace the file.

Weird, it works like a charm for me. No error, no crashes, no problems thus far. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

that's because you're using build 13. right?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I'm using Build 14 6Alpha

Which became built 14 7 when I installed that fix. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

so you saw that the relation indications worked properly? if you didn't, then you installed it in the wrong place, which would also explain why it still works.

EDIT: i tried the fix as well, but it causes the error with me too. please fix this soon!

I put everything where it belongs & so far no problems have come up. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

that's very strange. did you install all of the fixes that where made? (that where confirmed working) if you didn't, then there might be a compatibility problem.

Hi, ive just started using alpha 6 today,
Everythings fine except my sails dont seem to repair properly.
My masts had been shot down, so i sailed in map mode to conceio, then visited the shipwright, i didnt have very much money so i only repaired 62% of my sails, but straight away it went back to 0% and i lost all that money, I'm sailing a Bermuda Sloop.

Any ideas? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Thanks

there are quite a few things wrong with the bermuda sloop, as i found out. wrong ship deck, wrong cabin and non-functioning tutorial for a short time. i have experienced a different bug with the sails though, but that's something else. although it might have something to do with it. what i had, (in the same situation) was that i couldn't repair my sails, as it was indicated that they where at 100%, although i had no mast nor a bowsprit. the strange thing was that they had re-appeared when i went back too port, although the sails where still fully damaged. the damage was only registered when a cannonball flew through my 'sails', causing the bar to indicate the damage properly, as well as in the status menu. after that, i could repair my sails again. this happens a lot with cutters, and especially after you've boarded them. the same thing happens with the hull. i've seen it happen with most small ships, and in particular the non-stock game ones.

I installed these:

Build 12
Build 13 (Full)
Build 13 Update 3 (Full)
Build 14 Alpha
Build 14 Additional files
Built 14 boarding fix
Built 14 Modifications as posted by Pieter <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

My pack is meant for Build 14 Alpha 6. Won't work properly on other versions. But using WinMerge on nations.c, you should be able to put the fix into all other Build versions quite easily.

To whoever applied this fix onto Build 14 Alpha 6 and has it working: Please visit Tortuga, talk to some people, walk around and tell me what you think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

If you just wanted to use the fix, there's no need to extract seadogs.c. The fix is only in nations.c. My pack is a compilation of a whole bunch of stuff that should be compatibile with Build 14 Alpha 6. Though I have not been able to spend much time on making it a proper update. I leave that up to Pirate_KK. At least he now does have the fixes I made.

so the extraction of seadogs.c causes the bug? however, i just thought of something: nosie, are you using the random relations mod? with the adjustment of the relation indications, maybe turning it on causes that bug.
