Build 14/6

I haven't updated my code in quite some time, and haven't played in a while either.

I did notice that in the original tutorial cabin, there *was* a weapons locker. It's the brace of swords hanging on the wall. I found it by accident one day. I always took stuff out of it, but never tried putting anything into it.

Hook

To Hook - I started with a Bermuda Sloop - in my cabin with Malcome got my weapons OK.

However - later in the game when boarding (as Jason says) one is unable to loot the captain - maybe this is intentional. When boarding in "battle" conditions - corpses may be looted (both your own and the enemy) but in both cases when one reaches the captains cabin I have found the weapons locker to be always empty.

To Jason - Re not being able to get off ships - check your compass - are the ships you cannot leave in blue? - if so I have a felling that this is a "sneaky" put into the game cos you have boarded a ghost ship - don't know for sure - but having done it a few times myself, I now only board red ships !!
I have encountered fleets with a mixture of red and blue ships, so I am more careful as to whom I attack
As I said, I am not sure if this is intentional - but it works for me.

Hi all. This is not intentional. I have a big troubles with Internet, but Ill try to send fix for that to Pirate_KK.

blue ships have already sunk. i really have to try to board a sunken ship with instant boarding. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> it might even work.

Trust me Morgan - These blue ships ain't sunk <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> They come in full bore for the attack - they fire and you can fire back causing damage and even sink them (getting the respective points) but don't board cos it's a a one way trip <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
In a mixed bunch of red and blue - red can be boarded and taken in the normal way.

that's so wrong i don't know where to start! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I think I know what triggers it - but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else - especially if it is indeed intentional.

For me, it certainly adds spice to the battles (fog can be tricky) having to pay attention to which individual ships you intend to board. (especially if you are as greedy as me when it comes to getting loot! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> )

Both blue and red sunken ships do behave in the correct manner by going blue and remaining static when sunk in an attack.

you don't understand. that's a huge bug! neutral is supposed to be grey, friendly green, hostile red, and sunk blue. what's going on there is really odd!

Ahoy Short Jack,

Those blue ghosts ships that spawn and the ships that are on the water but not on the compass are not and intentional feature. They are a bug. So what do you think triggers it.

Also the blue ships are not the only ones we get stuck on and as you play longer the frequency of the problem increases.

Ahoy Jason, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
In my game the "blue" ships (those that fire and move etc.) are always pirates - is this the same for you?

Ships are always on my compass - if they appear in a batch of four ships (for example), sometimes ONLY the lead ship is blue, the rest are red and they perform as I have previously mentioned. Sometimes it is one ship alone, sometimes two as in the "regular" game.

I think it is the ability to encounter Black Pearl - NOT the quest one - just that type of ship produces ships with it's characteristics. I could well be wrong - but I am throughly enjoying the situation - I was able to play all day today and have got quite adapt at sinking blue and boarding red.
It is a very constant situation, with many "normal" encounters in between. I'm rambling on a bit here, I know but for me if it is a bug it is a GOOD one and occurs at sufficiently spaced times between "normal" encounters (i.e. does NOT increase in frequency), for me to think it's O.K.
Just don't board the blue ones - sink them!
(Sorry Morgan I know that doesn't make sense <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> )
It does not seem to affect the quests - I'm at the stage of rescuing the old man from Greenford and have completed several side quests in between - just waiting to get my level up. (did auto-experience and it's taking much longer to get there).

I would appreciate your feed back. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Hi Morgan,
I do understand the grey, green, red and blue. Blue being sunk - blue "icons" don't move in the normal game.
In this "bug" blue moves and if in company with other ships, moves with them and digress as they change formation. (I know you know what I mean here - it's hard to put into words <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> )

For me ONLY occurs in pirate formations. All grey encounters for example are always all grey.

well, i know of a really good bug myself. it gave me a manowar MM. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> i have a somewhat similar bug to the one you are having. at nearly every island, there is a fleet of neutral ships while the rest of the ships of that nation are friendly towards me. if any of those neutral ships gets sunk, and the sea gets loaded due to going to sea, sail ho, etc. , the game crashes. this started to occur after i finished the main quest. sometimes this also includes a hostile ship, but that seems to be a different bug, which is even more annoying as it can cost my letter of marque and my reputation.

no it isn't. seems like your files are even more skrewed up than mine. with me, the oxbay lighthouse is out. (i'm sure it was burning in a previous build version. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> )

I'm talking 14/6 - I think you are using 14/5 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

well, that's what my sig says, doesn't it? anyway, pieter said that it was likely to be unstable because of the lack of time.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> Well, as you can see by my sign,
I'm doing it and it works well!
Did not have any Problems so far, I'm about to
get the Prisoner in Greenfort. But we all know it's just an exscuse
to meet up with Danielle.
However I could'nt tell you how the real sailing works!
I started it that way, but soon changed to Arcade Mode. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

i am starting to suspect that something is wrong with several of my PotC files. for the second time now, when i entered grand turk tavern, pieter attacked me (the jokes have already been done the first time it happened, so don't bother) and i couldn't talk to him as a result. i have also been having several problems with the mateus santos quest, which i have posted elsewhere. could someone give me replacement files for the quests, and questreactions.c? i think that that would solve the problems.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I have the same problem with the turk help and i don't know what's the problem...very odd...but if you play FIRST the turks help and after the Bartolomeu's quest, the turks help will work.
