Sometimes there is nobody looking for an escort. You may get a job if you stay in the tavern overnight and try again next day. Or you may need to go to another island, then return to Redmond, and perhaps next time someone will want an escort.

Hasn't Governor Silehard given you anything to do?
 
Where are you in the main story? What was the last task Silehard gave you?

Cargo missions from storekeepers and escort missions from taverns can help earn money but they do not advance the main story. There are also a few special quests which have nothing to do with the story. One of them will start when you go to Quebradas Costillas for the first time.
 
As I said, it's random. Sometimes someone wants an escort. Sometimes nobody wants an escort. You weren't lucky this time.

What was the last job you did for Silehard?
 
Have you been given a chest to deliver to the tavern owner? Did someone try to stop you delivering it?
 
Go into Redmond tavern and see if there's a blonde-haired woman near the bar. If so, talk to her.
 
Is she there? If so, when you talk to her, you won't have much choice of what to say. She is the key to the next part of the main story.

That is odd. After you talk to Danielle, some soldiers should enter the tavern, there's a fight, Danielle runs away, a second group of soldiers enters the tavern and you're arrested. If none of that is happening then the quest is broken.

If you have a saved game from before you returned to Redmond after taking the French ship from Oxbay, try loading that. A saved game from before you went to Greenford with Ewan Glover should also work. If you have no saved game from before you returned to Redmond then you probably need to start a new game.
 
Danielle Greene is the blonde woman who should be in the tavern.

Have you done the part where you escort Ewan Glover to Greenford and then walk to Oxbay to meet Tobias?
 
First I need to work out where you are in the main story. So, have you done the part where you escort Ewan Glover to Greenford and then walk to Oxbay to meet Tobias? Have you brought Rabel Yverneau's ship to Redmond?
