Okay, pal, lets have a look at these photos you've been taking. And then you will tell us where your other friends are.

They'd come quicker if we had us Britney Spears or Paris Hilton! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

could be. but how would they know she'd be here?

since this is the write what you want thread, i thought i'd talk about my airship HERE. (don't worry, i'll put up a topic for it at some point) i've done a whole lot more work on it by now. the gondola is finished and cleaned up. it's exactly the same shape as a ship's hull, and came out VERY well. i've finished the boiler for the steam engine, and i think i overdid the details just LITTLE bit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> the front of the boiler is slightly rounded. in the middle is a maintenance hatch with a big rod on it to unlock it. the maintenance hatch is flat and round. the rod is mounted on an axel by a big steel clamp. i've actually made the screws used to tighten down the clamp, which is kinda sick. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

below the manitenance hatch is the fuel hatch. this one is a square, with the hatch as an elevated component mounted on it. (yes, i've made the hinges) on side of the the hatch is a half-round area with a handlebar to open it. and here's the good news: i found another really useful tool which prevents me having to make all those little facets to make something round each time. it gives a much smoother finish too. it's going to great for all that pipework. i've also done the left piston along with half it's crankshaft. it still needs the regulator and regulator piston rod though, as well as the entry and exit pipes for the steam. that engine's going to be a lot of work, about as much as the rest of the entire ship, but it's going to look great.

heheh, look what i found:

perfect!

We could paint her with glow-in-the-dark paint!

I found something on deviantart yesterday I thought you might be interested in: <a href="http://plaguedog.deviantart.com/art/mechanical-horse-76184339" target="_blank">http://plaguedog.deviantart.com/art/mechan...-horse-76184339</a>

It's an animation of steampunk-ish horse. You'll probably have to use something other than Internet Explorer to get it to run though - Firefox handles it well.

well, those photographers always had insane ability to track people down, so i think we'd be ok.

i can view it ok. it's kinda interesting, but i'm more interested in vehicles of any kind or steampunk-styled outfits. (like in my topic about it) meanwhile, i've made the main shaft along with it's two bearings. needs a little tidying up. if i get that thing in place i can really have some fun with the shafts and pipes.

I know I've got some kind of post-apocalyptic game somewhere that you build vehicles out of pieces of what remains of the industrialized world, and that there was at least one pilotable airship, but I can't remember what the heck the game's called. It might be "Project Nomads" - I'll let you know if I come across it.

I suppose I should get back to work - this stupid film study won't finish itself! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Also, how do you cancel a reply to a post while you're creating it - I realized after I started writing this I should probably have posted it in your topic <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_redface.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="icon_redface.gif" />

Hey, this guy has his own muffins. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sick.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eww" border="0" alt="sick.gif" />

he must have picked tham up. get the umbrellas!

my topic? well, knowing myself, that topic will probably only excist when i've finished the thing. what i've done now is determine the secondary driveshafts' position and start work on the flywheel. that thing looks pretty massive, but i'll be giving it a set of spokes later.

the game sounds familiar. i think i saw some screenshots when doing research.
