Need Help Updating the Russian Translation

"Adventure Galley" should not be translated but should be converted into Cyrillic letters which sound the same - if you try playing the game in Russian, you'll see that this has been done for the character's name.

@AkrimalS, could you provide a Cyrillic equivalent to "Adventure Galley"? Then I can edit the screen to use that.

1)According to the story, Barbossa sits in San Juan, in Puerto Rico after talking with Petros. But something happened wrong and a sailor sat on top of him, who asks for a team. I had to kill him to continue...
2)In the mission Finding Nathan Kell, when I got to Bridgetown, Bly is supposed to be standing in front of the church, but he is in Speystown. In Bridgetown I made my way through the jungle, as Beckett finds me in the port and sentences me to the gallows.
Untranslated "Plantation": the attached "interface_strings.txt" should take care of that. I've added lines for "Plantation" and also for "#stown_name# Plantation", which you'll find if you go to the plantation on Eleuthera. The lines are already translated because there is already "Entrance to plantation." so I copied the translation for "Plantation" from that.

But you will need to translate lines 626-630. Those, plus the new "PROGRAM\Worldmap\DailyCrewUpdate.c" provided by @Homo eructus, should translate the line about wounded crew who were healed or died of gangrene.

The attached "PROGRAM\Storyline\JackSparrow\quests\quests_reaction.c" should stop anyone from sitting on top of Barbossa.

Bligh does indeed appear in Bridgetown but he does not stay there for very long. You may have missed him.

Beckett is looking for you. If you go to either Bridgetown port or Speightstown port, Beckett will catch you. This is an intentional trap. You can either walk from the lighthouse to Bridgetown, or you can sail to a beach and walk through the jungle.

Here's the GoldBug russian loading screens. As a name "Adventure Galley" isn't translated and the two last ones without texts (zoom) are just copied in.
I'll be back after the weekend.
Among those screens are "zoom_green.tga.tx" and "zoom_tree.tga.tx". Are they different from the original English screens? I don't see any text which needs to be translated. If the game can't find a Russian screen then it will look in the English folder for the same screen, which means if these screens are the same then they don't need to be copied in the Russian folder. There are other "zoom" screens not included in your Russian collection; the game will also take those from the English folder.

@Grey Roger Ok thanks for the zoom pictures info. There are some more which I can leave where they are.

@AkrimalS, I have just started on the WR screens. Could you please upload a few russian ones you
already have made so I can see and compare the size of the "piecesofeight" texts. Maybe one with a short text and one with a longer one.
 
Well most, if not all, of the WR screens seems to be done already. I'll check every single one to be sure...
 
Some bugs:
1) At the beginning of the game, there are 6 people in each other in the doorway. Also Rifleman is not translated.
2) After we talked at the Naval Academy, this gang is standing outside the building.
3) These titles are translated for a few milliseconds and then the English title appears.

As it happens, I'm now part way through playing "Hornblower" and spotted the first group. They're supposed to move to locator "merchant2", but that's been removed to prevent a different bug. The attached "PROGRAM\Storyline\Hornblower\quests\quests_reaction.c" makes them move to locator "goto21". You should therefore see them march past the buildings and round the corner, where they'll stop. You're not supposed to be following riflemen, you're supposed to be going to the Naval Academy! I'll need to see why they do not move from their next position outside the hut when you leave the Academy.

"PROGRAM\Characters\Hornblower\characters\init\Story.c" has a small change. Doctor Clive's title is now "DoctorW" to avoid confusion with "Doctor" in "common.ini" because in English, that is translated as "Surgeon". Doctor Clive should not be Surgeon Clive!

Also attached is Russian "common.ini". This has a new line "Mrs." which I've copied from "missus" as it should sound the same.

And finally, "RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\RUSSIAN\Storyline\Hornblower\characters_names.txt" with several lines needing to be translated, including "Rifleman". "DoctorW" is also in there but I've copied it from "Doctor" in "common.ini" as Russian already translates that as "Doctor".

You'll need to start a new game for these translations to appear.

I don't know why those location titles switch to English, but they're only for "Woodes Rogers" anyway. If they're going to cause trouble then they may need to be made to only appear in their storyline, where they probably do translate properly.

Is it possible to make sure that the video in any scene is not skipped by pressing any key, but only by one key, for example "Esc"?
 
I'm not sure, but have a look at "PROGRAM\INTERFACE\interface.c", function 'IVideoBreak()'. A lot of it is commented out. Removing the comment marks might make videos stop only if you press the right key, or it might break the video system or even the whole game. So if you're going to try anything, make a copy of the file first - if you change it and it doesn't work, put the copy back.

The reason they don't move from the Academy is that they move to the Academy. :D They start from a building further away than the central fountain and march to the Academy, where they stay. One of the riflemen has probably just asked another rifleman why a group of midshipmen are still standing there by the Academy. ;)
