Sounds good, though I'd personally prefer a two or three-masted ship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

a corvette? the reason why i didn't go for that is because i've already drawn quite a few corvettes in the past, but i guess i could make another one for the banner. the thing is that it's a rather high ship, with as a result that you can't look over it as much as with the bermuda sloop, resulting in a less nice final result. it also hasn't such a nice sailplan as the bermuda sloop, in my opinion. apart from that, the bermuda sloop is more of a pirate ship, and it's a completely new ship that's included in the modpack, while all the corvettes are based upon an original ship. i think such a nice ship as the bermuda sloop would have a better effect than a ship that people already know, and there aren't really that much entirely new big ships, except the endeavour and the light manowar, which are really big indeed. although i guess i could change the viewpoint to a slightly higher one to make it look a bit better.

Good points. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

what about using a PA! ship custom made that would be cool for comercialising

note: if anyone has a better variation to this idea, say it now you still can! i can wait until tomorrow evening at the latest.

CUSTOM PA! SHIP <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />P

What do you mean by "custom PA! ship"? The Bermuda Sloop was made specially for the Build.

yup yup thats the one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

well, i've started work on something sketch-ish. the thing is that the cannon will be in the wrong place, which will result in incorrect windows. i guess it's just a custom bermuda sloop then. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> i would ask for a screen of the stern, but i've already started work on it, so it wouldn't really matter anymore.

on second thought, give me a screen anyway. it was just an hours work yet anyway, although i had started on the hull and had already finised the wake of the ship.

That's a cool idea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

RE: Forum organization: I agree with Kevin that currently information is hard to find. And not only for new players but also for new modders. There is a goldmine of modding knowhow in this forum, but it is scattered all over the place. What
might help would be a subforum dedicated to modding knowledge, e.g. called "Modding knowhow: Tutorials, questions and answers". I'd be willing to collect the scattered knowhow post and move them there.

RE: subforum on MODDB: Are there people who have the time to maintain that forum and answer all the questions and complaints that will probably appear there? If you can't satisfy those such a forum will generate only negative publicity.

I thought you said you started sketching it.

Question about the Build 14 name: How long should we keep the poll running? It seems that most votes are going to Pirates of the Caribbean: New Horizons. Can everybody live with that? Or does somebody have a better idea? Is there anyone who strongly objects to that? If so, why? I don't really want to come up with something that will turn some of our members away. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I sent PMs and e-mails to William and Keith several days ago and have had no reply. A modding knowledge subforum would be most useful, but I don't think moderators can make new subforums, so we'd need their help.

Personally I would prefer to keep everything centralized on this one forum. Otherwise it'd be hard to keep track of it. I just thought I'd mention the possibility, considering that the ModDB does have an option for it. If we are to keep just this one forum, we would need to do some more re-organizing and make everything as easy-to-find as possible. Perhaps a forum index thread containing links to the most notable posts on the forum would be in order?

meanwhile, you seem to have ignored the Q&A topic i posted. anyway, i've now more-or-less finished the hull of the sloop but the prespective's a bit screwy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> i'll try to adjust that if i can. the mast is largely finished as well.

We need some actual questions with answers in that topic. Could you possibly fill it with some questions with answers?
