The counting game

That's an Alberta-produced movie then, eh?

Yup, no mention of any farming equipment, so it can't be a Saskatchewan production

Mentioning those first words here though to much might cause cause someone to move up another list though ;) (a forum watch list) xD:

some of you might remember eschalon. well, the second part is out now. it's pretty much improved on all areas. my personal favorite is the addition of weather effects. i've only seen rainstorms so far, but the atmosphere is great. the birds starting to chirp when the rain stops are quite startling, since that's when you realise they stopped. also, it's funny when your torch keeps blowing out at night, since you quite literally can't see a damn without it when raining.

yeah. you download the whole thing and need a crack to unlock the full version. crack can't be downloaded though. all of them have trojans. but the demo gives you a real good idea of the game, so it's worth a try.

i should add though that the game's a lot harder in the beginning than later on, since copper equipment is kinda flimsy. also, it takes a while to figure out what's the smartest thing to do.

I'll have to stick with the demo only - new laws here mean I could end up being fined something like $50,000 for cracking a game, even if I own it.

okay, that's downright stupid. those guys clearly never heard of registration codes.

the game starts to get interesting around Wolfenwood. it's a classic 'stay on the path' area, where exploring could mean certain death at that point. i've never seen them do that before. it's a non-demo area though.

It'll even be illegal to take out library books and use open-source software, but nobody here much cares. They all believe what the media says - that it hurts scumbag P2Pers only. Idiots. Fun times all 'round.

No invisible walls of bouncy-offedness non-doom like Oblivion then?

you know, it's illegal anywhere to pirate anything, but how many people care about that? i sometimes ask myself how much money worth of fines i have over here.

no, it's a way different graphical setup. i've discovered that it does require a few attempts before you get your character build and quest choices right though. one particularily nasty one was where you could pick two dialogue options, and the seemingly sensible one locked up the main quest.
