i'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't be SO much easier to just make this thing out of mecchano entirely. the only truly essential lego pieces are the engines.

you try making crankshafts with regulators out of mecchano. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> i'll see what i can make of this. maybe some redesigning of the drive wheels to allow wider treads.

what i make and use is superior to lego. anyway, i've now got about two thirds of the boiler done. i'm making it out of sheet metal mecchano. MAN that thing's strong. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> just out of interest, i tried whacking it with a hammer and couldn't even dent the thing.
