i suspected you where using elemental. try getting at least five points in divination too. it's an amazing help, for any class. keep in mind though that there's a tutoring book for every skill, including the magic types. you should have found one by now.

well, the tangletree ossuary has a whole bunch of them, but fortunately for you, they're slow. the ossuary has a lot of nasty surprises for you though. oh: always bring along a throwing dart or two. some switches have to flicked at range.

ah, playing it too are you? as for the slime, they're annoying. bludgeoning weapons either work really well or really bad on them, and fire magic is also pretty crap. cleaving weapons and swords should work best. in other words, just kill em. they can give you a hell of a bad time when you're at a low level though.
