i'm supposed to be making an impossible german essay. heck, how the hell do you find life stories of people who lived in the DDR which you can actually <i>read</i>? it's impossible! the only thing you find are titles of books about such stories, or some psychological analysis of the life there. and if you do find one, it's in some upper-class german.

Went few weeks ago to berlin with school, most is about DDR, we slept in the former-DDR part, they had a whole )(*_&^%ing anarchist colony there full with punkers. Our guide in the Reichstag spoke English with a VERY VERY german accent. After each sentence she said: ,ja?. And in our group for the guidance were also some old Americans. They were creapy, smiley all the time. "Are you from holland?" "Uhm, yessssss." Big freaky smile!
