Me wonders how much time it takes to install a friggin' 60GB!!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

5317

Roughly 6 hours <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Although Stranglehold's worth it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> Especially if you like killin' and destroyin'. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> Okay this is nuts.. How much GB is left in your computer?. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

About 100GB, but I'm also acquiring X-Plane 9, which clocks in at 73GB. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

5320

I know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I wonder why can't they come up with a migthy file compressor and compress those darned 70GB into 7GB! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

There is actually such a thing - it's called UHARC. It can take a 40GB file down to about 20MB <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> , but it pushes the crap out of your machine when you get it to decompress something.

I heard rumors that the guy who made UHARC tried to sell it to Microsoft, but Microsoft decided to try and steal the source code from him, so he released UHARC to the P2P networks to get back at MS. Talk about gettin' even. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Splendid! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> Then this must be the only good way to clean yer computer from all that crap. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Oh and I've heard that those new games aren't that good anymore as older ones were. Its like "Why does the graphics go up, but the amount of gameplay go down?" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

You can actually get UHARC from just about anywhere, but that's the unmodified original, with a limit of compressing only up to 2GB files - the scene-modified version'll compress anything you throw at it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

The new games aren't any good - they're lacking replayability or whatever it is that keeps you playin' 'em. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> You can thank the graphics whores for that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Well, that and EA, who buys out and shuts down or mangles any indie studios that show some promise, like Dice did with BF 1942.

i know stranglehold. awesome John Whu (or whatever he's called)-styled gunfights all through the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> it rocks.

well, broken sword 3 isn't THAT bad in terms of relative size. it's just that the movie clips use the actual game to make the clips, which involves all kinds of special animations and models. then those clips get pretty big. you should be able to find the game's intro on youtube. the first half is pretty funny. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Harry strongly reminds me of Turbo McQuack. one of the examples would be this:

[their plane just crashed in the congo jungles. harry and george talking in the cockpit]

george: "the plane's completely trashed!"

harry: "ah, no big deal."

george: <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> "how can you be so calm about it?"

harry: "i won it in a card game. came with a full tank of fuel too, which was lucky."

george: "why's that?"

harry: "well, we wouldn't have gotten here without it."

Stranglehold's awesome until your graphics card overheats and starts artifacting - somehow, shooting triangles at bad guys ruins the mood <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Yep. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> Looks like there's more poeple who need me kicking their heads into their butts. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

VERY rare. I got so desperate at one point a few months ago that I went and acquired Viva Pinata <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> Granted, if you were high, that game would be wicked, but otherwise, I found it somehow disturbing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I always wonder WHY they don't make a new game based on some old graphics and what has a VERY good gameplay. For a nice looking old graphics and a very good gameplay. Drat. don't tell me its not worth anything! <img src="http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/thumbnail2/1353_angry_smoking_red_smiley.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />

They would be worth something if gamers started refusing to upgrade their entire PC every two years - then they'd have to start making games more backwards-compatible with older systems.

5331

that's never going to happen. but there is a fairly recent game that followed in the footsteps of broken sword 2. it's a 2D side-scrolling puzzle adventure game. don't remember what it was called. broken sword 3 and 4 are 3D, and wierdly enough, broken sword 4 works with the mouse like a 2D game, so you can move your mouse in three dimensions. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> it feels really wierd, but it works.
