The counting game

two more quotes, both from the Ketch sisters. those two are pretty funny, and both have a heavily british accent.

1: frost, about Frederick Ketch, their ancestor: "you see, he had accumulated great wealth."

mina: "as rich as a mink in a paddock!"

frost: "shut up, mina."

mina: "yes, frost."

2: frost: "and that, mister stobbart, is the difference between a lawful privateer and a pirate."

mina: "yo ho!"

....

"sorry, frost."

kinda odd that a game from 1998 is more than one GB. i'm talking about a downloadable version of broken sword 1 here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

More than 1GB? Where exactly are you getting it from? There's some trojan horse circulating around P2P networks right now that can hide in nearly any kind of file - I found it in a music file I downloaded yesterday.

i don't remember where i can get it from, because i gave up downloading it after i saw the size. the size IS reasonable, as it's a two-disc game, and both the discs have a 650 MB capacity. all the dialogue is in mp3 files, and there's a huge amount of dialogue in the game to account for anything the player might try, so you can imagine that it gets pretty huge. then there's the cutscenes and the music. what's amazing is that they time the sound effects just like in a movie, like music starting at a certain point when you find a certain item or open a conversation topic, or at a certain sentence in the conversation. it got even better in the sequel.

yes, i finally figured out what was wrong with my drawing! well, the one of the ghost, anyway. the eyes where placed too high. i thought it looked a little handicapped.

well this is an interesting dilemma. to be able to draw and type at the same time, i'm forced to place my keyboard on top of the sound boxes of my computer. works allright, though slightly awkward. i have the room to draw as well this way. however, now i want to listen to music. i have to connect my earplugs to the boxes, but the cable is too short to reach my ears from the current position of the boxes. that means i have to move the box with the plug-in towards me. but i can't, because the keyboard is on top of it. if i move the box i can no longer put the keyboard there, but i can't put it on it's usual place because of the drawing. and i can't put the drawing anywhere else. i have several options:

1: move the box anyway and hope that my keyboard doesn't dissapear behind my desk, dragging the box with it and strangling me with the earplugs.

2: juggle the keyboard, box and drawing with one hand and type and draw with the other, hoping that the wires don't get entangled. and i can't juggle at all.

3: somehow balance the keyboard between the desk and the wall and move the box anyway, again hoping that it doesn't fall behind the desk. this is without the risk of strangling me, so it seems the best option.

4: rig up an extra platform on which the keyboard is precariously blanced. or the drawing. could be really awkward.

5: call for help.
