I've been having the same problem after Update 3. I mentioned it in the SuperMod main thread, but it doesn't hurt to reiterate. After update 3 the game crashes at least every other or every third, sea battle. Sometimes as soon as i make contact, sometimes only when i get in firing range, and sometimes when boarding. I'm not sure if there's a common dominator there, but I've been pounding my head against the wall trying to figure what it might be.
Update 2 ran smooth as silk, no crashes in probably 8 hrs of straight play, but as soon as i updated to 3, bam, crashes every 20mins. Hopefully CyberOps, or someone working with him could put out a lil fix for update 3? *crosses fingers* hehe, not that I'd bug him at home on his days off after all his hard work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Just don't install update 3 i'm NOT using update 3 and the game is as smooth as silk <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

My install of AOP goes like this:
First install 1.41 and when done click to play,SF sreen comes up,
say NO to install.
Next install NoCd and follow with Supermod 1.1 and follow with update
1,2,3. Now I make a shortcut to the config.exe because the ones there
caused Errors and did not start because of issues discussed here before.
Now, I'm well into the game ( 5 Colonies) and going strong.
There are crashes and things don't work the way they should but it is
playable.
One other thing is, the harddrive has to be defragged and the Pagefile
deletet and reset because Windows makes quite a mess here!!!
First Reset Pagefile to Zero, reboot, defrag, reset Pagefile and play.
It will last for a while and you do that process again and again......
My comp. spec. are: Pentium4, 2.6, 1gb ram, AtI Radeon 9600 128 mb
with org. drivers, no update! Operating XP Pro.
Hopefully this is of some help! Happy AOP....and it only can get better!

One more thing is, I start the game with the ship of my choise because
I do not like the one given to me in the game. I've allways done that
playing PotC enjoying this game since it came on the market and still
playing it with all the Mods installed. As you can see I love Pirates!!!!

Nosie, why in God's name do you go through all those contortions to play using the Supermod? I use a Pentium 4 2.8ghz w/2 gb ram, XP Pro and a Radeon X1600 Pro 512mb card. Sounds like maybe the 9600 card is the weak link? You should think about updating your drivers. Guru3d.com has tons of Radeon drivers; give them a look...

Nothing like capturing a decent ship ...and losing it on a crash.

So to sum it up most if not all the crashes have happened on the transition from one screen to another..be it from the f-3 or the load to go into a boarding battle in the " tavern "

So I get the same on the update 3 as update 2.

The answer is to save,save,save 'till we get updates from Cyberops.
what does help is to run the game in windowmode. This way it crashes
to the desktop and does not go to reboot! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

and more , once Im go to island and at the ford spainish ships attack it , and I recieve massage from Governor but it was in some cirill things and I can`t read it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

cant help with the russian but the Musketoon will be in one of the bank spaces just click on it...its there just no picture.
 
in the next update there will be pictures <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Not sure if this is a bug in the mod or the game, but i noticed that if you see an enemy ship near the shore and use the "sail to" option to get next to it, your ship can be teleported inside the shore/mountain whatever and gets destroyed immediately. Also, i've had a few incidents boarding a ship and after sinking it, my ship gets dragged down with it as it gets stuck with the other ship.
