Hey there, first post on these forums for me...Though I have been coming to these forums for a very long time!

I love POTC and I've been hooked on it since the day of release (I know...That's a long time!)

I love what this community has done to the game...Build 12 and all.
I also love the skin you guys have put on that new Cutter (that small luggerlike-one-masted-ship)

So I was wondering can some1 skin a lugger for me in that same fasion <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Ok i know you guys aren't fond of "request" topics and stuff like that but it's really bothering me to see that there are no lugger2-skins out there to my liking!

And since I'm a real lugger fan (smuggling - gotta love it) I made this topic! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

So to make it clear and IF somebody would like to help me out, since I have nor the tools nor the skills to do it myself, here comes my small "wish-list":

-Use the Lugger2 model (the lugger with the cabin)
-Make it look like the cutter (Black with a white stripe alongside it and some golden decoration on the windows at the stern)
-Make it look like real wood...A little bit worn out, yet still newly-painted looking.
-Send it to me, or share with the community <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I could probably make up a nice lugger skin as you request. I've already done one (I love the lugger, too!) The cutter-to-lugger skin was not all that difficult; the cutter IS the lugger - with only the one mast... So the skin JMV made for her was pretty much already ready - I just made her a little more spiffy in the white paint area, and of course added the back windows.

I'm not sure what prompted the second skin but I was just fooling around. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I use my Lugger CT for every game, play quite a bit of the beginning using it... All you need to do is unarchive the folder and copy the two Program and Resource folders into your PotC directory.

NOTE... JUST IN CASE, MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF ships_init.c <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

LuggerCT2 is the black and white lugger with the triangles.

LuggerCT3 is the one with the skin like the Cutter.

You can edit your starting ship to show this in BuildSettings.h

And I haven't backed up <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

What could be wrong? Anyway to find out what's causing this CTD?

Look in your PotC directory and find compile.log, error.log, and system.log - post the last ten or fifteen lines from each, and hopefully I'll be able to figure out what's what.

One other thing to look for - did the files get copied in the correct place? The PotC directory, where they'd overwrite in both Program and Resource directories?

I don't think Pieter's modified anything in ships_init.c that would cause this to crash... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I'm testing now, hang loose...
 
Ok I got desperate so I re-installed build 12, did the same thing over again, overwrite what should be overwritten and got a CTD, I then put back the original ship.init and still had a CTD <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" /> I can't find those compile.log and stuff anywhere...Im getting depserate...I need to sail...The Salt is in my blood...I have tons of contraband...The town guards are on my neck...Save me Cat!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

I got the CTD, and the error log showed this:

Your error.log is a file in the (default installation directory) C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbean\ folder. This is the same folder that has the Program and the Resource files. You can open a .log file in Notepad.

I replaced C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbean\PROGRAM\Ships\ships_init.c and the game now works fine. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
