Afraid not Morgan, You play as an American Captain of a Gato class American Sub in the Pacific Theatre against Japanese, so there are no UBoats. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
Then you need to play Silent Hunter3,which has German UBoats and also has V11 class Uboats <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
i don't know that type. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> i DO know that the type VII-D was a mine-laying U-boat of which only very few where made. i think only 6.

Play'n Sh4 the last few days, great game in my opinion. lots of room for improvement which I'm sure modders will take care of, Spent a far bit of time sett'n up graphics, at this point there no AA, Ubisoft is think'n on add'n in a patch although there was a patch released same day as release date. Controls are pretty good, not as good as SH3, again modders are working on fix'n that as well. Gameplay is excellent once you get past some bugs which were fixed in first patch,could use a second one,noth'n gamestopp'n though, even without Aa grahics are decent, here is some pics

Hi! O.P.. haven't done to much, main part of hull is painted, Bow and aft section done. Been too busy play'n SH4, may have to take time off work to finsih it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
Aye Rico matey, Had some play'n around with game and card setings to get grahics the way I wanted, this game is tons of fun, War Missions. Quick missions, and Career modes, Training school is fun if you don't listen to orders, I was told to stay submerged and avoid escort contact, screw that says I, attacked lead escort on surface with aft deck gun, {you get a choice later of aft or forward deck guns} anyhow after taken out lead escort, tore into convoy sunk a large merchant before second and third DD payed me a visit, Took a short time to get used to aft deck gun,,got used to bow forward gun in SH3 but then Thought about it, use this to your advantage, Gato has a top speed of 21 Knots and an aft Gun. surface with'n range lead escort can spot you with your stern point'n at him at 10 knots,DD speed is about 21 knots let him get with'n gun range, speed up some o match his speed, by the time he reaches you, he's already burn'n from bow to stern ur sunk, rinse and repeat when possible. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Heh, I've been playing Pacific Storm - all for the glory of the Emperor, of course! Can you play the japs in SH4?

Nope, although they do have Japanese subs, ran into a Jap Midget Sub close to Tokyo, would I do like is you can rescue downed U.S. pilots, you can watch them parachute down from your bridge, also rescue survivors from sunk ships, you can see them in a life raft or a boat. US survivors only, Japanese survivors have to end for themselves.
