Question

Good news, i already appreciated tis on the "old Oxbay" :bow
And about player's interaction with other game characters?

Question: it's normal that if i fail to sink a ship, duty assigned to me by a governor, then all the other governors don't give me jobs anymore? i ask because i can't go further the rank of junior lieutennant in english navy after have failed this mission....
One more question: as i saw cuirasses for the body, why don't assign a variable cuirass stat to the various navy or military uniforms, of course gradually high as the rank of the uniform, for example junior lieutennant uniform could have armor rate 20, midshipman uniform 10, etc until the higher ranks?

As long as a Ship Hunting quest is active, another cannot be generated.
You can still get promoted by attacking any random ships; it doesn't have to be one of the Ship Hunting ones.
In fact, attacking enemy fleets and towns would get you promoted much quicker. :cheeky

OK thanks...Could i make a request for the next update if possible, Pieter?

It's possible to have a copy of the interceptor, but without her name painted on the ship (so i could call it how i would without contrasting with the name painted on ship) and fully upgradeable, i mean also repaintable in the various navy styles and with the chance of changing her cannons? I saw that in my game i can't replace cannons (i can use only her standard 4lbs cannons), or repaint her...And well, if in this "Interceptor copy" you could add the forward cannons and the shallop on deck between the 2 masts, i'll be really grateful :bow:bow:bow

Technical question: which differences there are between standard iron cannons, bronze cannons and bronze chasers? Ok bronze cannons are more accurate compared to the iron cannons, but the chasers? Are them the original game culverines?

Without anyone to actually do the work that you would like, that is not going to happen.

The Ship Upgrades just make your ship better. I think there is a description in the interface for them.

The extra cannons, yes. Need TX Converter and an image editing program for the texture work.

If I am not mistaken, chasers are the two guns in the bow. That's why upgrading them is relatively cheap - you're only replacing two guns, not the entire broadside. If you're chasing an enemy ship, those two are all you can fire, so accuracy is perhaps more important for them than for the other guns. Chasers can therefore be iron (default) or bronze (upgraded), and separately the rest of your guns can also be iron (default) or bronze (upgraded).

Culverines are long guns. Carronades are short guns. You choose that when you pick the type of guns (which applies at once to all your guns, there is no distinction between chasers and broadsides here). Carronades can be heavier than long guns (culverines), meaning a ship whose maximum cannon is 12 pounders is allowed 12 pound long guns or 24 pound carronades. You therefore have the choice of getting extra hitting power at the expense of reduced range.

Thanks for the explanation, so as the Interceptor doesn't have chasing guns it's futile to upgrade with bronze chasers, i mena they will be not added to ship right?

Could you please tell me how many pirates ships have i do sink to beome the rank next to junior leiutennant? In my career i'm stoppe dhere and even doing the main storyline and always completing Jamaica's governor tasks i can't advance...Ok i could buy the uniform via shop, but i like to have inherited my rank :g2

Attacking non-pirate enemies to your served nation is much more effective.
You can see if you are ready for promotion because your rank will change colour in the F2>Nation Relations interface.

Yes, check your relations and go after any and all enemies of England and you will start to advance in rank. But you will need a much better ship than the Interceptor.

Question: i'm searching for a corvette, but in the main storyline i can't find them, i only find the fast merchantman, that has the same appearance, but if i well remember, lower skills compared to the original PotC corvette...

The fast merchantman is an old frigate that was auctioned off and used as a cargo ship. The size and number of cannons was reduced, internal bracing to support said cannons removed, and the crew was reduced to increase cargo capacity.

But she is still a capable ship.

And to have a Navy corvette, what have i to do, other than conquer it, thing that till now as i didn't see them i can't do?

Keep playing the game. They are out there and as your rank rises you will see them more often. There is one off Martinique that the governor will ask you to get rid of, but only after you become friendly with him, and that can only happen after you steal the French frigate. :wp

Assuming you've left BuildSettings.h and InternalSettings.h alone, the type of ships you encounter depend on your level. When you've gained enough experience you will meet more interesting warships, and you should also have the combat skills to take them.

In WW2, merchant ships often carried an old naval gun. Some were fitted with more, heavier guns and became auxiliary cruisers. PoTC went more or less the other way, replacing the heavier guns of the corvette with fewer, lighter guns to make the fast merchantman. It's basically a target.

If you can't find a corvette or frigate, a brig of some sort will do. My usual upgrade path is lugger -> sloop -> xebec or schooner -> brig or 6th rate frigate -> corvette or Aurora class frigate -> flushdeck frigate. Sometimes I get lucky and am able to skip a step, e.g. capturing a brig while sailing a sloop.

Incidentally, you can take Letters of Marque from more than one nation. It helps if they're allies. Sinking a French ship will make England, Portugal and Holland happy and help towards promotions from all three.
