Pre Build 13 Modpack

I was able to go back to salary yesterday. After dividing plunder (again), this time just a day passed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'll try to test your dialog fix, i use to board quite everything <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Something weird happens sometimes, it's related to the "assign officer/dead loser" bug. Sometimes one of my ships suddenly sunk after transferring captains, sometimes i find that one of my officers has been cloned, sometimes just the officer name. Yesterday, after loosing a ship in this way in Dowesen, a Wanowar with 0 HP, 0 Sails, 0 crew was at the port using my same "sails color/pirate emblem" scheme.
When i arrived next port, the manowar appeared as part of my squadron at the shipyard <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> (just a frigate sunk spontaneously)

Thanks for testing and your report.
I now understant that two days passed instead of one day
after dividing plunder. OK I will test for it too (with one ship only).
If it starts repeating regulary, then maybe improve fix. If only
few times. Then I think better to keep fix as it is now. Please report
if you have repeating problem with this bug.

If ship has no captain then it will sink. Maybe " transferring captains"
problem.

All I can say at this point is: I am happy to be a smuggler and avoid
these problems.

BTW Maybe reinstalling potc will help with these problems??
 
The post Build 12 mods aren't entirely up-to-date. A few of the most recent bugfixes aren't in there, such as the dialog working on all decks bugfix (I think) and the divide-the-plunder bugfix. I am currently without internet (using a school PC), so I can't update until it is fixed.

It is true there are some really serious unfixed bugs with the passengers/dead enemy captains/officers that should still be fixed. I reckon it might have to do with some changes made in the new interface mod. I will try to contact Maximus as soon as I can. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Captain Hawk proposed a fix for looting the dead during boarding. I put it in and every thiing works perfectly.

I've noticed that when transferring between two ships, but not your flag ship, you don't get the option to change officers for those ships.
Let's say you just transfer cargo.
Then, even though both ships have captains, once you exit the interface, one of the ships sinks, and that captain is lost!

I'd think it is in the interface.
 
Ah! That might explain a lot. My connection seems to be back (finally - took quite some effort), so I will be updating my modpack tomorrow. And I will contact Maximus about those interface bugs. 1) Pieter's Pirates Page is properly online again. All download links working as well.
2) A new modpack update has been made available. And the full modpack download is now fully up-to-date as well.

New stuff in the modpack update:
- Raoul Rheims replaced again. But the change isn't temporary this time. Great new skin by Petros.
- Great new ship skin (Light Frigate 2) by Petros
- Boss1 skin improved
- Equip buttons (1-0) should work on boardings as well now
- Several bug-fixes
And some more stuff that I can't remember right now

You are quite right. I made a mistake in the filename. It should have been "update_6-9-05.zip" but it was "update_6_9_05.zip". The link is fixed now. A question about the main quest which may or may not be a bug.

I remember playing the Quest where we stop the ammunition ship and doing it at sea. In earlier versions you meet Virgle Boon, sail away from FDF, the when you got out to sea hit the key and leave the map view. Virgile's ship would show as an enemy and you could attack it with no hit to your rep as that was your mission.

I have''t tried that for a while since back in the day you could kill him in the port and take 1,000,000 in gold. Now that it is only 5000 I tried to do it sea today and found that he was an allied ship and when you attack him your rep drops 2 levels.

I don't know if it is bug, but it isn't right.

I just finished that quest a couple of days ago and did not have a problem. I escorted the ship to Redmond harbor where I had the Redmond Fort sink it. As I remember, the ship did not show up as a enemy until it reached Redmond. As you are escorting the ship to Oxbay (supposely) it would be friendly at sea. I've mostly always captured the "Ouiseau" out at sea.

Recently done it again with one of the recent updates successfully, however did note that you had to either board or sink her. If she struck colours you could not then capture her.

Doing that should make sure you can finish the quest, right?

I plays a lot with the latest modpack, here there are the problem I've found:

1) I win a lot of boarding but enemy captain was ever death, so I can't any ramson.

2) Surrender captain haven't nationally set and ramson is always 0.

3) During Pirate mission, get from the governator, some time I found no enemy crew when boarding, and when this happened there is no way to leave the battle, just have to load the previous savegame.

4) In the jungle I never see the girl chase by the bandits and neither criminal folk.

5) Occasionally game crash during land fight (I see that the crash occurs with corpsmode>0).

About 3): Jack Davidson has also reported this bug.I also have had trouble with it. I tried to fix it. Fix worked but had serious side effect so I can not use it.

2) If you close and board (ship hasn't struck), then you end up on a deserted top deck and can't leave, either to capture the rest of the ship or to return to your own. TRAPPED! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Ihave tested it too and was able to get a savegame .
Yes ship was "neutral". Yes 2) happened for me too.

I have now candidate fix no:3 for boarding.
It helped me not to get trapped, and boarding was "normal".
If it helps with "neutral" ship I do not know yet.

I have testet it very little so it needs more testing.

Edit: I think this fix needs fixing, All enemy boarders are now
pirates. For me it is even more boarding oh no.
Edit2 For now do not use candidate fix no3.
I think it is better to remove my "governor indeed" fix.
I think it is not really needed as Quiliooto Fix is in place.
Maybe my fix made this trouble.
CharacterUtilite.c Line 2626 back to:

So I removed my "governor indeed" fix, but it was no help.

I would guess adding:
ch.nosurrender = true; to the Virgile Boon section of StoryCharacters.c

Then adding:
ch = CharacterFromID("Virgile Boon");
ch.nosurrender = true; to the reinit in the current version section.

I think this might be fixed with the adjustment to surrender at sea that NK is providing, combined with increasing surrender after boarding in Buildsettings.h

I have noticed this as well, and my work around is to keep taking hostages until one has a bounty, then it seems they all get the same bounty and you can ransom then all.

Pieter, might this be an interface problem?

I think the fix to eliminate men and old women from being chased, may have reduced the chances of the event from happening at all.

While I did think that it was way too frequent in Build 12, since using Post Build 12, I have encountered the rapists only once!
 
About encountering rapers: It seems that rapers can only be encountered during certain hours of the day (when the men of the archipelago feel particularly [stops in mid-sentence] - PotC is supposed to have a PG rating, right? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> ), so that might be why you don't encounter them so frequently anymore... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I think the surrendered captains were already causing trouble before the new interface mod was implemented.
