Pre Build 13 Modpack

1) The Pre Build 13 is now available again from Colosseum's webspace and also from a FileFront mirror.
2) The Build 12.1 is available again from my site, but I would prefer uploading it somewhere else instead.
3) A new modpack update is available. The only thing changed is the previous boarding bug that is fixed now.
 
I just tried 8-3 with the fix and a new game. Traded with smugglers. Coast guard showed up. Took one ship no problem. Defeated everyone on the first deck of the second ship and couldn't go anywhere.

Replayed the same situation, fighting three Coast Guard ships. Took the first one fine, couldn't get the first deck on the second ship. BTW, no matter how many crew I have, 3 or 61, I am accompanied on deck by 1 sailor.

Here is my suggestion primative and uninformed as it is. Why don't we go back to a boarding code we know worked say in 7-19, put it in and leave it alone.
 
If it's not working, then that's the only way to do it. Will require changes to other files that were submitted the same time as the new boarding code.

Yeah I am afraid it is not working. I started a new game, went after the English Pirate at FDF. First time fine, won the fight on the first deck, went to captain's cabin etc, talked to him sent him to the hold, took ship.
The second time I tired, I won the fight on the first deck, went to a second deck to fight, won the fight and got stuck.

I have now taken out all Hook's code that shouldn't have been in there in the first place, but I'm still having troubles. I wishes there were more coders at the moment. The only programmer who is active at the moment is Hook.
 
Pieter, I wish I could help with this. The barding code in the 7-19 version works fine. I suppose just dropping that in here is not enough?

I have been working on making a merge using the 19 June code and the 5 August code to come up with something that would work properly, but would also contain the most recent fixes. So far, I have been very much unsuccesful. I have had the most crazy bugs:
- When engaging ships on the worldmap, sometimes they don't show up on the radar, but they do fire at me. I can leave to the worldmap at any time during such a fight and I can't board them.
- The enemy captains don't have any money
- I start the boarding with 1 crewmember aboard my ship and end the boarding with a full crew

These bugs are waaaay weird and I am not going to release this version to public. This is going to require a lot of work, merging the code in bit by bit and checking if it works, then merging the next part in. I am not sure if I want to go to all that trouble. It means hours and hours of work to me and I probably STILL wouldn't get anywhere. Plus Hook is working on fixing it all PROPER, so it would just be a matter of time before it does work right. Having only Hook as active coder at the moment is also a problem: We need more coders! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Don't worry about it. The July 19th version is playable for those who want to play. It will be better to get it right.

I downloaded the lastest pre 13 etc etc. A lot of pictures were missing already in the tutorial cabin. Pictures of fists, gunpowder, pistolbullet & a loading screen too. A quick glance in Resource\Textures\Interface gives that files are missing.

If you have played the 5 August 2006 update, can you give a list of bugs that were introduced in that one? Then we'll know what to look at for the next PROPER version.

I have updated the Downloads page on my site. It now includes several mirrors for the main downloads (so one of them should at least be working). I also made available some of the older modpack updates that might work better than the most recent one.

To Jack Rackham: What the HECK? Those files have not been changed since the Pre Build 13 Base version. Have you installed the Pre Build 13 Base version before installing the latest update?

This is the main bug most of us are having , Ships as u siad eighter not showing up in the mini map or sometime are with blue ( as sunk ship while it is not ) or grey colore ( as surrendered ship but it is not and still firing at us ) . Hope u/anyone fix this bug ..
