Pre Build 13 Modpack

I like the approach to wall-scaling! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Now I should get back to work already... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

<div align="right"></div><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Uh? That's weird. It still seems to working for me. Could you please try again. And if it doesn't work, please tell me what error messages you might receive.

Another update was made. Some more bugfixes/improvements and one new character model by Petros. The tailor's shops should work properly now.

Keith has kindly provided me with some webspace for my modpack, so that I won't need to use my "own" webspace anymore, that was given to me for my <a href="http://www.static-lift.net/~vsshipyard" target="_blank">Virtual Sailor website</a>. I was feeling a bit bad about using 50MB for something it wasn't given for. So now I can put the file on some webspace that <i>was</i> given for that purpose. Thanks a lot Keith!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />
For now, the most recent update is available from here:
<a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.net/PotCMods_update.zip" target="_blank">New Update</a> (1,76 MB)
I will soon go and juggle a bit with my available webspace to move most of my PotC stuff to the PA! webspace. As for now, the old webspace is still used for everything, except for the most recent update.

Pieter et. al,

I am playing the most recent update and have noticed the following:

1. During melee, there is a line of what appears to code appearing in the log every time someone dies.

2. When enemies go down we are getting "blade and blade" instead of "balde and pistol" even when the NPC has just fired a pistol.

3. The transitions are very slow. When on the map and log comes up, all movement stops and transition screens are oftern very solw. I am pretty sure this is not related to my hardware and I don't really know what to suggest but I think it is worth looking at the interface. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

4. Finally there are the damn daggers.

Daggers, daggers, everywhere,
Not real a sword goes clink,
Daggers, daggers everywhere,
Its driving me to drink.
ARRGH! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Can we do something about the damn daggers?

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> Hi Pieter,

I spent some time in testing the Modpack with the last update.

probably you are already aware about the problem I found:

1) Pirate mission got from the Governator of every island didn't work (cause the game crash).

2) Sometime when i swap my ship with another the game crash when I switch to bridge view.

With the previous ModPack (dated may) I didn't find these problem so I think was introduced with the last mod. However also with the previous ModPack I can't continued the main Quest because when I met Danielle i the lighthouse she didn't say me where is the informer about Reinhes and I can't countinue the quest.

However I like very much the new feature of people that start to tallk without that I have to stop them and I hope this will go in the next build.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Congratulations for the good job, I can't wait for see this ModPack released,
Giuliotto

Again, the modpack has been updated with several bugfixes and the beginnings of a very nice mod that will add more diversity to the characters encountered in towns.

<i><b>Important notice:</b></i>
The modpack has been moved from my "own" webspace which wasn't actually meant for Pirates of the Caribbean stuff to webspace provided to me by our very own webmaster, Keith. Thank you very much indeed! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />
The modpack's new home will from now on be found at <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.net" target="_blank">Pieter's Pirate Page</a>. The full modpack is temporarily unavailable while I am uploading it to the new webspace, but the update can already be used. In half an hour or so, the full modpack should be up again as well, fully updated.
You will see that I made a small website out of it for my Pirates of the Caribbean works, including the post Build 12 modpack and the new list of character models. I also renamed the modpack download from "PotCMods.zip" to "post_b12.zip", so it's more clear what it actually is. The update has been renamed from "PotCMods_update.zip" to "post_b12_upd_9-7-05.zip", so that you'll also know the date of the most recent modpack.
<span style='color:red'>Edit:</span> The full modpack is now available again. And I noticed the link to the update was pointing to the wrong place, so that is fixed now as well. So everything should be in proper working order.

Also: MAJOR thanks for everyone testing. It is greatly appreciated. I don't have time anymore today to comment on all the recent bugreports, but know that they are appreciated and that all you find will be ironed out if we can. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
Unfortunately, I'm not the best bug-fixer around (that would be Nathan, I think), so I can't do much bugfixing myself. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> Ahoy Pieter,

The shipyard interface is not working in the latest mod. When you talk to the shpwright to repair/sell it doesn't go to the interface. However if want to buy new guns that works.

Also the store seems buggy too. Most of the time you can't buy things.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Ditto what Pieter said: Thanks, testers! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
And <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> , Keith, for the hosting (as always. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )!

Jason:
1. That's debugging text I forgot to remove. Fixed.

2. Fixed. I hate typos. :]

3. Will try to improve this.

4. Did some fixing with this; you'll still get some at levels 1-2 (maybe a couple at lvl3) but they're much less common now, and only high-qual ones should be used.

giuliootto:

1. So it always crashes on gen pirate? Can you send me a zipped save from right before you ask for a PH mission and it crashes? ( nathankell@piratesahoy.net )

2. Again, can you send me a save? Also, can you describe a bit more the situation? Where were you, what ships were they, did you swap at sea or on land--and if at sea, via the F2 interface or by sailing up next to the ship and hitting F3?

Shipyard bug fixed. Typo.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" /> Nathan

Wow! that was fast. When you say fixed I presume you mean you have fixed the code not necessarily that the modpack has been updated, right?

Pieter usually lets us know when he posts an update.

On another note that Divide the plunder screen looks great. It is still very slow. My screen saver started twice while I was waiting and it took so long I restarted.

Nice work today! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

Right, sorry. YGEM with the zip.
I'll analyze what your itemtraders update table looks like; that may be the slow thing.

Thanks! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />, Jason! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" /> @ Pete. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

It means 'You Got E-Mail' (aka YGM. Related: YGPM for PMs).

Nathan,

I have played the fix and shipyard is working, daggers are gone, thats right daggers are gone! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

The log is clean and the dead give up their pistols! Great Fix! very Fast.

Have a few cold ones! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Thanks, Jason! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Good to hear that stuff is /really/ gone, not just gone for me... :]

Nathan and Pieter,

One thing I noticed when playing Nathan's fix last nigt was that when I captured 6 merchant Capts and tried to ransom them they all had a gold value of 0. That had happend before but I thought you might wnat to check this out before you update the modpack.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
