Pre Build 13 Modpack

I use the default build settings with the following exceptions.

Start level 35, personal money 5000.

I turn off the sekeltons, mummies and gun dowsing and I enable Pirate coastguard.

I will post the whole thing if you like.

What is "gun dowsing" parameter?

However, yesterday I play a lot with the last modpack and here is what i've seen:

Start first game with all mod enable except for Real Cannon.
Just exit from Oxbay town when a fight occurred in the Port and CTD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
Reload save game, this time successfully set sail from Oxbay.
Have the first boarding and when the last enemy falls jet another CTD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Try to disable ammo mod.
Restart a new game, win a fight in Oxbay Port, have a lot of boarding without CTD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

About increase crew mortality: I've seen that difficulty level seems increase from previous version.
At Beginner level sea battle is a little bit hard, with my Lugger are enough two or three bombs (from a Fleet) to sunk (this with defend level set to 4).

I don't understand well how relation mod should work (after set sail from Oxbay and before take LoM I enemy with all), after take LoM from English and Set personal Flag my ship have Duch flag instead of the red one, why?

I like new starting interface, new cannon and ship fire.
I like gunpower in cargo hold, but my officers say that I running out of gunpower when I have just fill my cargo hold.


Just a little issue, at the first run of the Game the introducing screen (screen after logos) was in russian font, so I run the EnglishLanguage.bat in the POTC, as results introducing screen is expired.

That's not a bug. Merciless Mark replaced Nathaniel's flag with the Dutch WIC flag and I couldn't resist adding it into the modpack. I will change that into a proper personal flag though. I haven't had a loading screen there for ages. I don't even remember what screen is supposed to show up there. I suppose this can be fixed reasonably easy though.

BTW: The gun dousing parameter is for the Firedrill mod. If you do a firedrill, your cannons are unloaded. If you turn gun dousing off, they are not unloaded anymore.

Is the Rapid Raid Mon in the modpack?
 
Yes, it is. The F9 button triggers a Rapid Raid. I know it works. I get killed every time I press that button. I even figured out why it didn't use to work properly with your blade drawn and I fixed that as well.

Something old and something new.

I think I have mentioned this before. When I tired to land at Santiago, I couldn't. It went through the lower sails, the anchor dropped, but nothing happened. Then I moved to Havana and could land fine, but there is no is now tavern keeper in the tavern.

Something new. Leving Redmond, two British ships, that's right British ships are attacking Redmond 'Fort.

I guess I should start tracking logs of this stuff, hun!

When I press f9 nothing, happens. I press 9 on the num pad I get the music and the message that I am attacked by french infantry but no one shows up.

I must spend my apologies to you for have said that every new update introduce a new bug, nothing was more wrong <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

This last update is pretty stable, till now I've play for more than 5 hours without a CTD <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

For me the difficulty balance is also good enough, at beginner level with 4-5 Defent point and with all defend ability set my crew mortality is quite decreased.

Also boarding problem seen in the previous update seems fixed, great work!!!

Just few things that I notice:

1) Windrose in the WorldMap is still swapped compared to the map in the interface.

2) Seems that for me ammonition mod cause some problem (CTD), after disable this I never more have CTD. (but this seems just a problem of mine).

3) I've commented the line that triggered fight in Port because cause CTD in my Game, after disable this I never more have CTD.
This problem didn't seems related with Screwface's ambush, patrol and pirates in town mod that still work in Port and didn't cause any problem also during fight.

I'm sorry for all the bugs. I should make a stable update for a change, adding only stuff we know to work. I will ask a question about this in another thread.

Some few things that about me should be fix:

1) Clari Larusse (Franch pirate in Isla Mule) quest have problem with CORPSE_AUTODISAPPEAR enable: After land at Greenford and kill guard the dialog didn't work.
but CORPSE_AUTODISAPPEAR enable seems solve some problem of performance that cause some CTD when there are too many charaters on screen, so good thing have introduced it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

2) Flag on spyglass view is expired.

3) Sometime when I'm at sea if front of the Port I can't enter in WordMap, I have to move near a ship distance from the port to enter in wordmap.

4) My officers when arrive in a new land location didn't appear next to me, but in another map site.

5) Still few occasional CTD during (just one in 6 hour).

6) In Guadalupe Point o Prince Loading screen are missed.

7) I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but Redmond governator refuse to get me Pirate missions.

BTW I would like to report fours of play with no crashes or freezes.

Things I think still need attentionbut do not really interfere with game play are:

1. The problem of the nationality of crews,
2. The issue of the British or other nations suddenly turning hostile,
3. And of course Hawk's personal colors. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Jason: How have you been finding the "Flag Issues" ?? To me All nations still fly the "Portuguese" in my spyglass view, but I have this turned off. I have seen the Enlgish Forts firing on English Ships til they surrender, but then I can't board them either. I always look for cheap "prize Ships" to board. There are most certainly still problems with other Flag related problems involving who is hostile and who isn't.

And what about those crew casualties we were experiencing....would not be so bad if some of them weren't so laughable, like boarding surrendered ships to find your crew gone, without a fight even !

Also I am still getting CTD's but usually involving street fights......especially in Isle Muelle ! Have you noticed anything here ?
 
Today, I have been busy with trying to make a more stable modpack version. I have a version ready, but I don't think this version is stable. I need to do some more testing and I probably will need to make yet another version. Once I have made something that seems to work reasonably well, I will post it here. It seems progress has stalled on the Post Build 12 mods for the time, but know that I keep working on getting something ready.

Please note: I am going to make a stable version, excluding a lot of the recent mods. We first need a stable base version before we can go adding new stuff again.

This I have seen, but not consistently, also as I mentioned, English ships and forts firing on Nathanial.

I have never had a crew loss, go to zero with or without a fight. I have found that is seems to depend on the amount of damage your ship and crew take in pre boarding bombardment and the length of the fight on deck. I don't know this for sure, but it looks like there might be some sort fo formula here that could be tweaked. BTW I play at level 35, so my values are quite high.

Will you be ale to let us know which mods are in and which are out in the stable version. As I indicated in , my post, I am finding the one we have very stable, comparable to March 5.

Jason: Do you mean that before testing/playing you "artificially" put your levels too 35 ?

Well, that might be the reason that you never saw those really bizarre crew losses that I did, but you did notice them.... They would be really discouraging for new players that start here with the post build 12 mods. Those crew losses could never be replaced, the drain on Taverns would be sooooo extreme.

Pieter, what caused them ? the only new thing that might involve crew casualties was MM's new gunfire mod....earlier versions of this didn't

P.S. Jason: did you ever find that Treasure in the Oxbay Jungle near the Roadsign with the two other roads, or something like this ? I have paced this off for hours.....never found a hole/icon/search thingy....nothing. Screwface said it was toward Greenford, but there are two sites right in a row.......and I have searched both extensively

P.P.S. I thought the March 5th was a our most stable.......yeeeks!!! Which one are we testing now, that we found the CTD's...the one we have at this moment ???
